Chapter 22

AUSTIN'S POV

I woke up to my phone going off. It was 11:42. I unlocked my phone and saw the text from Brandon. This is what it said:

Hey I can't sleep, so I'm gonna go take a walk in the park. You're welcome to join, and sorry if I woke you up.

I scrambled to get my shoes and a shirt on. I quietly ran to the door, and Brandon was there, about to walk out. He smiled and walked out. I followed him, and I forgot how beautiful the night was. I don't remember the last time I've been outside at night.

"So is there a reason why you are going on a walk?" I asked.

"Not really, I just can't sleep."

We joined hands as we walked on the sidewalk. The park had plenty of trees, and there was a sidewalk that wrapped around a large pond. There was also a playground. I pulled Brandon to the nearby swings. Brandon motioned me to sit down, so I did, and he pushed me. After that we began to walk again.

"Did I wake you up?" He asked.

"Yeah, but I don't care. I'd rather be here than asleep."

I noticed a few guys hanging around, and they were wearing hoods.

ISABEL'S POV

I woke up, and I was uncomfortable. I went to roll over onto my other side, but I accidentally fell off the bed. As I fell I hit my head on my nightstand. I just sat there for a moment, until Peyton walked in.

"Are you okay?" She worryingly asked.

"Yes, but I almost died," I jokingly responded, letting her know that I'm okay. "Did I wake you up?"

"No, I wasn't able to sleep."

I thought for a moment, then stood up and turned on the light.

"Come over here and sit down," I commanded.

She sat down, and I motioned her lay down and put her head on my lap. I sat criss-cross, and played with her hair.

"Have you seen Brandon and Austin? I walked past their rooms and the doors were open and they weren't in there," she questioned.

I nodded my head. After a while she moved and latest by me. We talked for a while, but I accidentally fell asleep.

BRANDON'S POV

I noticed that there were a group of five guys walking near us. One of them threw a rock, and it hit the back of my leg. Austin turned around angrily.

"What the crap!" He exclaimed.

"Gays can burn in hell!" One replied.

They got closer and began talking to us.

"Burn in hell!" The same one said.

"You can suck my d***!" The leader said.

"Bro, that's gay," I laughed.

That seemed to make them angry.

"Kaden isn't gay," a third one said punching me. That pushed me back a little bit, but it barely hurt.

Another one punched me and I caught it. I twisted his arm and made him fall. Then, they decided to gang up on me. One grabbed my leg, and two grabbed my arms. One of them pinned Austin. The leader reached into his jacket and pulled out a gun. He aimed it towards me.

"No!" Austin protested.

He turned the gun on him. Austin flinched.

I heard something in the bushes move.

"Prepare to die, faggots."
