Charlie's POV
I brought Bella back to my place. There was no way she could stay with her mother and be alone with her too. My mom said it was fine that Bella could stay over when ever she needed it. I told my mom about Bella and what's been going on, she and Bombay were the ones who filed some reports about her mom. I don't understand though, her mom was nicer before wasn't she? She somewhat loved Bella and now she can't even say one simple nice thing to her. I feel bad for Bella. I really hope things get better for her soon. Maybe if we win the playoffs, then maybe she'll be happier or things could get better for her.
I woke up during the night to some noises I don't usually hear. I got out of my bed and walked around trying to figure out what that noise was. It turned out to be just Bella screaming in her sleep. My mom must be fast asleep if she can't hear anything. I walked over to her and kneeled down next to her. She was asleep on the couch that pulled out into a bed.
"Bella?" I tapped her shoulder so she'd wake up. It didn't work, so I shook her and called her name. I could see the tears streaming down her face, she was shaking and sweating too. Her nightmare must be awful if she's this bad. "Bella, wake up. Come on, get up." I shook her some more. She shot up and was about to scream, but I covered her mouth before she could and she placed her hands on my hands to take mine off her. "It's alright, Bella. It's me, Charlie." I took my hand off her mouth and she took a deep breathe sitting back in the bed.
"What happened?" She asked quietly looking up at the ceiling. I sat on the ground leaning against her bed and looking in front of me out the window.
"You were having a bad dream."
"Oh, they're back, hun?"
"What do you mean?"
"I always had nightmares, but then went away and now they're back again. Gotten worse, Charlie." I turned and looked at her as she still looked up at the ceiling. I was getting up to leave when I felt her hand take mine. "Stay with me the night?" I nodded and made a makeshift bed on the floor next to her. It'd be too weird to crawl in next to her. I know were cool mates and all, but no, this isn't happening. I am only 10 years old. I threw the couch cushions on the ground and grabbed a blanket from my room and laid down on the ground next to her.
"Night, Bella." I told her.
"Night, Charlie."

"Charlie! Where are you?!" My mom yelled from the other side of the house, she was in my room looking for me I guess. I pulled the blanket off my head quickly, but then put it right back on from how much the light was burning my eyes. "Charlie!" I heard her once more. I pulled my arm from under the covers and gave a thumbs up so she could see me.
"Why are you calling my name so early in the morning? I'm dead tired." I told her quietly, falling slowly back asleep as I do.
"What time did you go to bed last night, Mr.!"
"Quiet down, mom. I'm trying to get some sleep."
"Charlie, unless I have a great reason why. You're going to school."
I huffed and explained to her what happened last night. "Bella had a bad dream and I woke up. I was up for like thirty minutes with her and she wanted me to stay so I slept here on the floor. Anyway, I also had troubles falling back asleep. Now,may I go back to snoozeville?" I asked.
"I guess, Charlie. But keep an eye on Bella for me. I don't need her or you getting hurt. If you two are awake enough to go to school later around noon, then go and if not. Then stay here and sleep."
"Oh... yeah. Sure thing mom...." She left and I turned onto my stomach and closed my eyes once again. The house was quiet, but really bright. So I quickly got up and shut all the curtains so I could sleep better in here. I'd go to my bed, but I don't need Bella flipping out thinking I left for school and left her here alone in my house. So I stayed and pulled the warm covers over my head and I repeated what I did early. I closed my eyes and fell back asleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Charlie?!" I heard, was it a dream or was someone actually calling my name. I sat up and rubbed my hair, my hair was probably a mess. But it doesn't matter. I got up and walked over to where the sound was coming from. I opened the curtains and put my hands to my eyes and tried to see who it was.
"Man, who is it?" I asked.
"It's Averman, Peter, Karp, Goldberg and Guy. Where were you all day? You weren't at school." He told me. My eyes cleared up and I could see a whole lot better now.
"I was asleep. I had brought Bella over since we didn't want her at her mother's place. She was having nightmares and it kept us up all night. We couldn't get out of bed this morning, so we stayed back and caught up on our sleep." I explained to them, they nodded.
"Wanna come out with us?" Guy asked.
"Depends, where?"
"Charlie, who you talking to?" Bella asked as she walked over to the window and stood next to me rubbing her eyes. Her hair was all over the place, it was in a ponytail but with how she slept, it became a mess.
"The guys, wanna go someplace?" I asked.
"Where we all going?"
"Who knows... Hey guys,we should pull a prank on someone or even on those Hawks." Peter called.
"I guess." She was already dressed, she wore her clothes from yesterday to bed and I did too. We ran downstairs and I locked the door bringing the key with me. We joined the others outside and had some fun.
