It had all started that morning, very early in the morning - 5:09 a.m. to be exact - when Sage had called Leo trying her best to explain her actions which ended up turning into her bursting into tears. Leo had tried to calm her down, but to his acknowledgement, he wouldn't be able to over the phone. So he stayed on the phone with her until he had ended up at her apartment, where he knocked and finally ended the call when she answered the door. "Hi." He said awkwardly, rubbing the back of his stiff neck. She sniffled, trying to hide her tears that were running down her face. Leo frowned, leaning in closely to pull her in for a tight hug, letting Sage know he was there for her, and only her.
"Leo I-I'm so sorry." She tried talking more, but it ended up being more tears that she couldn't hold back. Leo rubbed her back in a soothing way, and slowly let go, still keeping her body close to his. Leo firmly grasped her face and held it softly. "It's okay, Sage." Her hands were shaking in his, but she somehow felt safer than she had felt in a while.
Sage nodded, breathing out heavily. "I need to tell you why I did that to you yesterday, L-Leo I-"
"Shh." Leo sighed, kissing her forehead gently. "You need some rest, come on." Sage let him pick her up in his arms, wrapping her hands around his neck because it was the safest place she knew, and guided him to her bedroom. There he laid her down softly on the pillow and wrapped her in the blankets. "I'll let you sleep for a while, alright? You need it." Before he could let go of her, Sage pulled him in and shook head no.
"Can you sleep here with me? I-I know you're tired too." Leo nodded slowly, crawling in beside her. Immediately Sage snuggled against his warm body and smiled, her tear stained face drying. "Leo?"
"Hmm?"
"I think I'm falling in love with you."
Leo's eyes widened, "What?" And before Sage could say anything else before she fell asleep against him.
When Leo opened his eyes, his arms were wrapped against Sage's body, with his face buried in her neck. His breathing was stable, and he was sure he had never felt so calm in his life. Well, until he had began thinking about what Sage had said to him seconds before she fell asleep. I think I'm falling love with you.
Leo questioned if he felt the same, if he knew that he was falling in love with the beautiful Sage Amor. And he was certain that he was falling in love with her, maybe even in love with her. How could he not? She was everything he had ever wanted, and now that she was right at fingertips, he knew he had to confident enough to reach out and just grab her.
"Sage?" He whispered in her ear, lightly placing a kiss on her neck. She hummed, and slowly opened her eyes. Sage sighed, looking back at Leo and smiled. Leo smiled back, and placed one more kiss on her neck before speaking up. "Are you still tired?" She shook her head no, and turned around to face him. "Do you uh-do you remember what you said before you fell asleep?"
Sage's eyebrows furrowed, but not for long once she realized she had spoken the truth. "Oh, yeah. I-I do." Leo nodded, awkwardly swallowing hard.
"Is it true?" Sage bit her lip, ready to say it wasn't, that she had just said that because she was tired. But she couldn't, and she wouldn't do that to Leo when she knew herself that telling him she wasn't falling in love with him would be a lie. A lie that she couldn't take back.
"It is." She whispered, feeling her heartbeat quicken rapidly. Leo again nodded, and let his hand move the piece of hair that was falling in her face. He kept his hand there, caressing her soft skin with delicateness. "D-do you feel the same?"
Leo looked away for just a moment before looking back at her, then at her lips that looked delicious to him. He leaned in and kissed her soft-honey lips, and then moved down to kiss her neck softly with passion. He breathed in her scent and smiled to himself. "This is my new favorite place, your sweet smelling neck," he paused, kissing back up her neck back to her lips and then stopped to look her in the eyes. "And yes, I know I'm falling in love with you, Sage Amor," he smiled with all his teeth showing - Sage's favorite smile of his - and sighed, "and I really like it."
"I really, really like it."
