It had been one month since Sage had said yes to Leo's proposal, and the couple couldn't be happier with their life. Leo had been so nervous over the whole situation and how things would be afterwards, but as weeks passed, he realized he didn't need to worry because things were better than ever before. They had been spending almost everyday together, either going to new cafes and diners, or new parks and the couple had found a few art studios that they enjoyed going to, to look at other artists' work. Leo was sure that this was destiny and they were following it exactly to plan, and that they always would because they were perfect for one another.

Sage was also trying to perfect her life, and had decided to swallow her pride and try to make amends with her mother, and maybe eventually her father if she ever saw him again. Since the dinner, he had left and never came back, but that didn't burden Sage, because she decided if she wanted her life back on track with her family, everything wouldn't be like it used to be. Nick was still trying to find their father but it was no use, and slowly, Sage convinced him of that, and since then, they had started hanging out more as well. Leo and Nick had met in the month's course, while it was rather awkward, the night ended with everyone laughing and happy and Leo felt confident in Sage and her family.

Now that it was one month after the very special and tear-jerking night, Sage was walking around Chicago, enjoying the sun-kissed warmth that spring was bringing. She smiled to herself, holding the bags of clothes that she had splurged on earlier that day. The day was beautiful and bright and the clouds were puffy and white and she knew that nothing can ruin the happiness she felt.

Her sandals clicked against the pavement, and a white piece of paper caught her eyes all of a sudden. She stopped in her tracks and adverted her attention to the paper, her body moving towards the wall that held the paper. Sage looked at the paper, her eyes turning wide as she read: Artistic Teacher wanted! Interview and occupation will be held in Orange County, California. Please call this number and arrange interview. Sage grabbed the paper and she could swear that it was fate for Leo. That this was his opportunity to grow as an artist. She smiled, folding the paper in her purse; hurrying to Leo's apartment to share the news.

As Leo let Sage in, he smiled widely, moving in to kiss her gently. His fingers lingered for just a moment, before he moved to let her come into the apartment. "Well, this is a surprise babe. What are you doing here?" He asked suspicious as Sage eagerly smiled, her hands reaching into her purse to grab the white flier. "What's this?" Leo asked, grabbing the paper of her hands. He unfolded it as he leant against the wall of his kitchen, his eyes squinting to read the words.

He was smiling as he read the paper, and Sage could see a hint of hope in his eyes. But as Leo continued reading, slowly but surely, his smile faded away as he read Orange County, California. Leo looked over at Sage and sighed, folding the paper in half to put it on his counter. "Babe." He drawled out, shaking his head. "It's in California. I can't get a job in a whole other state."

"Why not? This would be perfect Leo. You can finally show people your work." Leo looked down, biting his lip. "No, Sage. I'm broke as it is, I can't go to California and just hope that I get a job. And what about us? I can't just bring you half across the country and hope I can afford something in California."

Sage sighed heavily, looking defeated at the paper. "This would be perfect, babe." Her voice came out as a whisper, as she stepped away from Leo. "Just forget it... I just-I just thought that you would like the idea of doing something with your art."

Leo moved closer towards her, feeling bad for making her feel defeated. "I'm sorry, baby. I-I just don't know how it would work." Sage shrugged her shoulders and looked down, crossing her arms around herself. And that's how the day ended; Sage left Leo's apartment and they didn't see each other for two days, two long days without speaking even though Leo tried his hardest to contact her.

Sorry for the lack of updates! I've been busy with a lot of stuff, and haven't had any time to write. But I finally had a small amount of time, and this is what I came up with. Sorry it's short and rather pointless lol but it is just a filler chapter. The next one is going to be longer, so just bare with me for now. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and remember to vote and comment any suggestions you have for this story before it ends.
