"Ow." Leo winced, as he let Sage clean his face up. Every time she would come across an open wound with the washcloth, it felt like his skin was being tore apart. "Ow." Sage sighed, gently going over the biggest wound that was on his jaw from falling onto the pavement. "Fuck." He pushed back, shaking his head. "Just leave it." He mumbled, his lips turning into a frown. Sage took the washcloth to the dirty clothes hamper and came back with some pain medicine that she hoped would help with the pain he was feeling. They sat down together on the couch, Leo's arm laying lazily around Sage's. This was different from other times when they sat on the couch. Normally they would laugh and watch a relaxing movie while they fell asleep on each other. But this time, they awkwardly sat in silence; uncomfortable silence.

Earlier that day Leo had no clue that getting a snickers bar would lead him to fighting his girlfriend's ex. And to think, he never got to even eat his snickers bar and Sage never ate her Milky Way. Leo sighed, looking up at the ceiling of Sage's apartment.

"Why did you stay with that asshole for so long?" Sage sighed, shrugging her shoulders.

"I guess I though I was in love with him... I don't know." Leo sighed, his eyebrows furrowing.

"Did he hurt you?"

"Not intentionally."

Leo rolled his eyes, "why are you still defending him? I can tell that he hurt you... all you have to do is go to the cops and prove it and he'll be gone." Sage looked over at the corner of the living room as she closed her eyes.

"I'm not defending him... I-I would never defend him. The only time I got hurt was when I tired to involve myself in what he was doing.. when I tried to stop it." Leo sat up, wincing as he felt how sore his back was.

"There's no reason you should have gotten hurt... at all, Sage."

Sage scoffed, "it was my own stupid fucking fault Leo, okay? The cops aren't going do to shit about that when it was nothing." Leo watched Sage stand up and sigh heavily. "I don't want to argue about this, he shouldn't be the reason we argue. He's out of my life, that's all that matters. I love you.. not him."

Leo pursed his lips, "what if he comes back? What if you get hurt, what if I'm not there to do anything about it. He clearly doesn't a fuck if he hurts you."

Sage brought her arms up to her chest, "I'll be fine."

"How do you know?"

"Because I do!" Sage shouted, breathing heavily. "Leo, I know you don't like him and yeah... I wish you would have fucking killed him yesterday. But, there's no sense in fighting over the fucking asshole, he's not here and he will never be here. All that matters is that your here and that I love you."

Leo nodded slowly, "I'm sorry. It's just that-"

"Shut up, Leo, please. I don't want to talk about it anymore."

Leo stood up, a worried expression coming onto his face, "do you still have feelings for him?"

"I told you that I don't lo-"

"Do you still have feelings for him?"

"Leo."

"Sage." He dared, crossing his arms. "Do you still have any sort of feelings for him?"

"Why are you doing this, Leo?"

"Because I want to know."

"Why are you acting like this?"

"Like what Sage? I'm worried that the girl I love may have feelings for another person," Leo paused, "just tell me the truth."

Sage looked down, a small tear falling from her eye. "We have unfinished business, Leo. That's all. Maybe I need to talk to him, just finish it. But, the truth is... is that I don't have feelings for him anymore. The moment I walked in on him cheating on me, is the moment I felt nothing but hate towards him. I know that now, because I have you. Because I love you."

Leo breathed out a breath of relief, leaning in to hug Sage. "I'm sorry." He whispered in her ear. "I've never felt like this.. I've never had to fight someone. I don't know how to do this." Sage held him, running her fingers through his hair.

"It's okay."

Leo sniffled, "I love you so much."

More tears fell from Sage's eyes while she smiled to herself, "I love you more." And in that moment, Sage knew that she didn't even have to talk to Parker, because right there when she was hugging Leo, the unfinished business, the little thoughts of maybe I do still have feelings for him faded away. Nothing else mattered in that moment except for Leo and her love for him.

And nothing would ever matter more than Leonard Calathey to Sage Amor, because she was sure that they were soulmates, and they would always be together - for eons.
