Reyna flipped through the baking books looking for a good Christmas cookie recipe. She loved when she use to make cookies with her sister Hylla, but this year she would be making cookies with someone else.

"Found anything yet?" Thalia asked. Thalia was quite shorter than Reyna, for Thalia hadn't aged since she joined the hunters so she looked like a sixteen year old.

"Nope." Reyna sighed and closed the cookie book. "Just boring old regular cookies."

"Well, maybe we can put a twist on one of them." Thalia grabbed a few cookie books and started flipping through them at random.

Reyna tapped her fingers on the table a little impatiently. She couldn't focus that well while Thalia was in the room, but she didn't want to look like she was thinking about Thalia so Reyna just looked at the table instead. Reyna had always been good at hiding her feelings.

"Here!" Thalia exclaimed and pointed to three different cookies in the different books. "A chocolate pinwheel cookie, a coconut cookie, and the peanut butter one!"

"I don't think that's a great idea." Reyna said cautiously.

"Well, you're not the professional chef, are you?" Thalia smirked.

"Neither are you." She rolled her eyes.

"That's not the point." Thalia said. "Let's see, we should use a cup of sugar, vanilla flavoring, two cups of flour, three eggs, melted chocolate, some butter, coconut shavings, and a cup of peanut butter." Thalia said listing off ingredients, and sort of combining the three recipes.

"Sure." Reyna said. "Are you sure?"

"Positive." Thalia smirked and Reyna couldn't help looked at Thalia's distracting eyes. "Now, let's get the ingredients together."

They gathered the ingredients which they were lucky to have all of them. Reyna grabbed the measuring materials and a mixer.

As Thalia said random instructions, Reyna measured and mixed.

Thalia would sometimes help.

"No, that's way too much." Thalia pointed out as Reyna was adding the butter.

"Excuse me, but you said eight ounces. This is eight ounces." Reyna argued.

"Yeah, but that looks like too much." Thalia complained.

"Are you the one doing all the work?" Reyna pointed out, smirking. "Respect your elders, little caçador." Reyna patted Thalia's head and added the butter.

"I'm older than you you know!" Thalia exclaimed angrily. "I was a tree for a few years, and then I became a huntress and—"

"Yet you look like a teenager and act like one too." Reyna cut in. "What's the next ingredient."

"The eggs." Thalia said. "Four of them."

As they continued, Thalia and Reyna began goofing off more. They turned on the radio and started singing Christmas songs.

"Feliz Navidad!" Reyna sang. "Feliz Navidad! Feliz Navidad, Prospero Año y Felicidad."

And then Thalia cut in singing with enthusiasm and shaking her head like a rockstar while playing air guitar.

"I WANNA WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!" Thalia sang. "I WANNA WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I WANNA WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEAAAAAART!!!!"

Reyna and Thalia bust out laughing as they put their messed up cookies in the oven. Reyna was mad that they had actually made seven trays of Thalia style cookies. Hopefully they would taste good.

That was proven wrong however, one hour later after they had baked all the batches of cookies.

"Okay, let's try it." Thalia smiled and held up the deformed cookie.

"On three." Reyna said boldly as she held up her cookies.

"One...two...three!" Thalia shouted and the girl's stuffed the cookies into their mouths.

Immediately, Thalia spat it out, spraying crumbs all over Reyna. Reyna coughed up the cookie and ran to the sink to get some water.

"What..." Thalia wheezed, "the hades...was that?!?"

"Your 'creation'" Reyna coughed again after sipping some water. "That was a waste of ingredients."

"Hey, maybe we should just make some traditional sugar cookies." Thalia said as she flipped through the cookie book and checked the ingredients. "We have just enough ingredients to make the cookies!" She exclaimed happily.

The two of them tried again at making cookies, and they stuck exactly to the ingredients. A little later, the cookies came out of the oven.

"They smell delicious!" Reyna exclaimed.

"Just like you." Thalia smirked and Reyna hit her upside the head.

The two of them messily frosted the cookies and set them on a plate. The two of them were exhausted by this point, and collapsed on the couch with the plate of cookies.

"How many cookies did we make?" Thalia questioned while munching on a sugar cookie.

"About a tray full." Reyna noted and nibbled a cookie. "That was actually quite fun."

"Because we were having fun together." Thalia gave a freckly smile.

"What are you going to tell Artemis?" Reyna asked.

Thalia thought for a moment. "I think it will be fine. As long as I don't go see you too often, and I don't let you get in the way of my missions. And you're not a boy, so that's a plus."

Reyna shrugged. "I just don't want you to get in trouble."

"Don't worry. And don't think I don't love you any less." Thalia planted a kiss on Reyna's lips. The two of them cuddled and ate cookies for the rest of the afternoon.

As for the terrible mixed cookies, the two of them dyed them blue and put them in a plastic Aggie to give to Percy as a joke for Christmas. They couldn't wait to see the look on his face when he ate them.
