Naruto's mouth dropped in shock. "Hinata-chan, what are you doing here?"
"I was worried about you, so I came to make sure you were okay... how did you just appeared like that?" She asked, making Naruto close his eyes and sigh.
Naruto stepped forward and grabbed her shoulders. "Hinata I-... I'm leaving the village for a while." She almost started freaking out but Naruto spoke again. "I'll be back to graduate with you, I'll be getting training from a super awesome ninja."
"W- Why can't you train here?...with me..." She whispered the last bit but Naruto heard her anyway.
"You saw how Tai-sensei tried to hurt me, it's been like that since I can remember. I don't know why but most of the adults hate me... I'm going to be trained away from the village." Naruto's eyes widened. "But I want you to have something!"
He lifted up the coffee table and there, taped to the bottom, was the tri-pronged kunai he'd warped to. He pulled it out and gave her the kunai. "As long as you have this, I can be here with you in an instant. I have four of them. One at the hokage tower, one at Ichirakus, one I carry with me, and this one. I want you to keep it so if I ever wanna see you I can."
"H-How is that possible, Naruto-kun?" She asked, eyeing the seal on the handle.
He sat down on his couch and motioned for her to do the same. "I have a bloodline, kinda like the byakugan but less cool. It let's me teleport short distances, but with these I can always jump to them. They make distance not matter anymore."
"Really? That's amazing, Naruto-kun, would you mind showing me?" She asked, smiling.
He flickered from her view and he chuckled from behind her, making her flinch in shock. "I- that's incredible, Naruto-kun... but how did you get it? I only know of one person ever having that power. The Yondaime Hokage." The her eyes widened. "Are you related to the Yondaime? Blonde spiky hair, blue eyes, and a similar ability are too much to be pure coincidence."
Naruto shrugged. "The old man said my dad also had the-... my dad is the fourth hokage..." Naruto dropped to his knees, shock overwhelming his senses. "My dad is the hero of the hidden leaf... but... then why do people hate me?"
"Because of what he sealed inside you." Itachi Uchiha was leaning against the frame of the door with his eyes closed. "Naruto you a a jinchuriki, you hold more chakra than humanly possible. The night the kyuubi attacked the Yondaime realized that the bijuu are merely constructs of chakra, meaning they can't be killed or beaten by conventional means. He used his unparalleled skill to seal the ninetails into a newborn, sacrificing his life in the process."
"Naruto protects us from the ninetails?" Hinata asked in awe, remembering all of the hateful glares she'd witnessed with Naruto. "That makes him a hero."
Itachi opened his eyes and studied her face before smiling to himself. "I'm surprised a child your age could come up with the correct answer when the civilian council and a third of this village's Shinobi couldn't. You're right, Naruto bears a burden you can't even dream of. It will only get harder as the Fox's power over him grows. Right now, he is restrained by the seal. Then only way to break the seal is by using its power, think of it like a crack in a damn. The more water that comes through, the bigger the crack gets, until the damn breaks apart and releases the water."
"So I'll just never use its power, how hard can that be?" Naruto asked.
Itachi cut him a look. "Very. You once told Hokage-sama you'd like his hat one day. For you to be hokage, you would have to be extremely powerful and having the fox at your disposal you could have nearly limitless power. If all of its chakra were under your control, you could power up a C-class Fireball Jutsu to the point where it could destroy entire villages, flexing your chakra would be enough to kill chakra sensors, and your speed and strength would be comparable to Might Guy if he opened all eight gates. You'd become an unstoppable force of nature."
Naruto and Hinata looked like fish out of water but Naruto shook his head. "I don't need it's power to be strong."
"You're actually using it right now. Have you ever pondered your ability to miraculously heal over night, your extremely sharp senses, or your abnormal physical strength? These are because a miniscule amount of the Fox's chakra is leaking into you, changing you so that when you use it, it won't kill you."
Naruto nodded. "I'll become strong on my own, Itachi-sensei, but I see your point. It's like a ninja tool, I can use it if I have to."
"Exactly. I've got to go say goodbye to my brother and fiancé, I'll be at the gate tomorrow, if you're late I'll have you carry my pack as well as your own."
Then in a flock of crows Itachi left.
The two kiss were silent for a moment before Hinata hugged him. "I'm gonna get stronger too, don't let me pass you, Naruto-kun..."
Naruto put his arms around her and whispered. "I won't. I hope we can stand side by side against our enemies."
