My Lost Potential

Falling down can ruin plans

But if I'm already down then do I need a hand?

To save me...

I go through life quietly.

Living close to the ground feels cold

I should get up or so I've been told

That would be good for me...

Rather than hanging out at the corner.

I am a dawdle man

Flip flopping over the place

An unaware dawdle man

Living life in disgrace

Bored out of my mind

Rolling over in bed

I seek fame without a hit song

About any tears to shed.

I don't care...

I'm not ready to bare

My soul...

Or jump through any holes.

I embrace rot and decay

I avoid any dragons to slay

I let them romp and breathe fire

While I do nothing but accumulate desire.

Master of deliberation

Apostle of procrastination

A lacklustre cacophony

Is what I can produce

I don't give a hoot

In fact, I'm ready to give this the boot

This song about lost potential

How much more can I juice?

I am a dawdle man

Without a plan...

Known across the geologic span

An infamous never-been

Don't take my picture

You will lose your time

Just like I waste mine

Trying to find a place on which to lean.
