"I don't want your body but I hate to think about you with somebody else. A love gone cold, you're intertwining your soul with somebody else. I'm looking through you while you're looking through your phone then leaving with somebody else. No, I don't want your body but I hate to think about you with somebody else" Somebody Else by VÉRITÉ

Alexa is sitting in a local coffeeshop in Tucson, Arizona, she had just finished working out with her teammates on campus. She's a senior at University of Arizona, which is where she met her ex, Aaron Gordon, who is now an NBA star playing for the Orlando Magic. They met as freshmen while he played men's basketball and she played women's volleyball. She sees him enter the coffeeshop with a girl that looks like her, but a more light-skinned version and can't help but feel weird.
She had heard that Aaron had moved on with someone else, but she thought it was a lie because how could he move on so quickly from Alexa, who he dated for two years before distance tore them apart. She took everything she could with her, knowing that she could never go back to him because of everything that happened between them.
She doesn't want him but she hates to think about him with somebody else, even though their love is over. She has to accept the fact that he's intertwining his soul with somebody else. She's looking through him while he's looking through his phone. He eventually leaves with that girl and his arms snaked around her waist. She tells herself over and over again that she doesn't want him as he walks out down the street with his new girl beside him.
She knows that this won't be the last time that she'll see him. Knowing her luck, she'll probably bump into him more. She thinks back to when they broke up and him telling her he'll find someone to replace her, as he walked out of her apartment. She didn't think that he had it in him to break up with her because they were going through the same cycle. Every time she starts thinking about everything he said, she reminds herself that she should be getting over him.
Her friends tell her that she needs to get someone she loves and someone she needs. However, she thinks that it's better for her to focus on her academics and her athletics. She wishes she could give someone her soul, but realizes that her life doesn't allow her to.
She just hopes that Aaron is living the life that he deserves to live with someone who is able to give him the time and love that he deserves, which is everything she couldn't do.
