Merry Christmas eve everyone :) Enjoy :)
Korra sighed. She stared out at white snow as it gently fell over the streets of Republic City. Though it wasn't much. This year wasn't guaranteed snow this year for Christmas.
That was one thing Korra hated about this time of year. She'd grown up in a place where it was always snowy and cold wherever she went. She was used to it. Even after all this time that she lived here, she had never gotten used to to the fact that it only snowed in one quarter of the year.
Due to some circumstances, Korra and Asami was not able to go to the South Pole like they usually did for Christmas eve.
Korra fiddled her thumbs absent-mindedly. She suddenly felt arms wrap around her waist.
"Hey"Asami said, smiling. "What are you doing??".
Korra shrugged. "Watching the nearly nonexistent snow", she said with a grin.
Asami kissed Korra's left cheek. Korra grinned.
"Love you, Sami".
Asami smiled. "I love you too, Korra".
Korra turned around and looked at Asami. She frowned when she noticed that Asami had dried tear tracked on her cheeks.
"What's wrong??".
Korra stood up.
Asami shook her head. "Nothing. Don't worry about it".
"Well I'll worry about it anyway".
Korra then remembered Asami's father. This would the first Christmas ever since Hiroshi died. Korra felt the guilt creep up on her.
But she put on a smile.
"C'mon. Let's go watch some tv".
Korra took Asami's hand. She led her through the mansion halls and to the living room. The two plopped down on the couch. Asami picked up the remote and turned on the TV.
The two flipped through the channels, trying to find a good movie. Asami stopped at a channel. She smiled. "I love this movie", she said.
Korra grinned. "Then let's watch it, Sato".
Asami wrapped her left arm around Korra and sat back. Korra laid her head on Asami's shoulder. They suddenly heard footsteps. The women sat up and looked in the direction of the sound.
Nags walked in. Korra smiled.
"Hey girl".
Naga looked sad. The normally peppy and hyper animal was slugging and dragging her paws. She curled up on the floor in front of Korra and Asami.
Korra frowned, noticing right.
"Naga. You okay??".
Korra slid off the large couch and onto the carpet. She crawled over to Naga. The avatar laid on her stomach looking at Naga.
"What's wrong??", she asked quietly.
Korra reached out and stroked her soft, thick fur. Asami watched the two. Korra and Naga had a strange way communicating. A strong connection that could basically understand fulls sentences of the other's language.
"Is she okay?", Asami asked.
Korra looked at her. "She's upset that it won't be snowing much for Christmas this year", she said. "This is our first Christmas together away from home and......".
Korra's face fell. She said nothing more and stroked Naga's fur. Asami watched. Korra seemed upset at the idea.
Since when was Korra sad during the holidays??.
