The Escape that lead to Another Reason

Chapter 1: Connor

Really sorry if its kinda boring at first. I'm not that much of a great writer but I have more ideas coming still. Well I hope you like it lol. I'm planning on making it more interesting by the way. Well yeah that's all I have to say. :) 

Drowning... I was drowning. I was trying to catch my breath but I couldn't. I was trying to yell out for help but no words came out. No one could hear me. I was falling into a bottomless lake of darkness trying to save myself but I only went in deeper. Then I suddenly woke up to my best friend looking at me with a worried expression and a cup in his hand. As I realized that what I was experiencing was only just a dream, I noticed I was wet. No not that type of wet. I was breathing heavily and my shirt plus hair were soaking in cold water.

"Dude are you okay?" Ethan asked me with a worried look on his face. I turn to look around me and remember that I spent the night at his house. "I, uh, was just having a bad dream why?" Ethan still looking at me with a weird expression, got up quickly and started to get clothes out of his closet and told me to hurry up or we're going to be late. "Late for what?" I ask him, with no interest in rushing. "For school! And we still need to go pick Aravis up. Hurry up dude." I suddenly remembered it wasn't a weekend, as I usually go over on weekends, and get up to go get ready.

As I'm brushing my teeth Ethan peaks into the restroom already to go with my keys in his hands. "You're still not done?" he asked me looking a little impatient. I spit out the toothpaste in my mouth and reply slightly annoyed, "No so can you calm your shit and wait." He turns around and leaves. I hear the front door open and shut and then the car engine turn on. I quickly, and irritated, go find my backpack and get in my car, which he was apparently going to drive.

As we are heading to pick up Aravis, our third person of the three peas in a pod, we get stopped at a red light. "Just great" I mumble, who was also in a rush to get to school. I look to my right and see a group of girls standing on the sidewalk looking at us and giggling. Since we were in a Corvette Convertible, I could just simply ask them what the hell they were laughing at without having to put down any windows. But I chose not to. As I turned to look the other way, one of the girls calls out to me saying "Hey you. Yeah you, the cute one. What are you doing in a car with a freak like him?" And she bursts out in a shriek of laughter along with her followers. Ethan looks away feeling bad about himself and I look at the group of girls again. They stop laughing and the girl that spoke out looked at me with a smirk on her face and her hand on her hip.

I turn to look at Ethan and loudly ask him, "Yeah bro, what are you doing in a car with such a freak." As I turn to look at the ridiculous girls they no longer have their stupid smirks but a look that simply states 'are-you-stupid'. I smile politely towards them as the light turns green and we head towards Aravis' house.

As we pull up onto her driveway I quickly get out of the car and knock on her door. After a few seconds she goes to open the door and walks out. She jumps into the backseat and I get back to the passenger seat. "Let's go, we're late you dimwits" she says as she puts her seat belt on. Ethan quickly drove down the street and towards the prison-like school.
