As we're heading home I start to remember that my parents were at my brothers school for some unknown reason. We drop Aravis off at her house and head towards Connor's. "Hey your mom never called back did she?" he asked me. "She didn't actually." We get to his house and decide to walk to my house. As we're walking down the street Connor asks me what I think might've happened. I honestly had no idea. As we get to my house I notice the lights are on. That's good. At least they're home. I go to knock on the door and both me and Connor wait there for them to open. My dad opens the door and turns back around without saying a word. "What happened?" I ask him as Connor shuts the door behind him. "Come take a look for yourself" my dad replies. I walk into my little brothers room, where I see my mom sitting on the bed next to him. He has a bruise under his eye and a bandage over his nose. His arm is also in a green cast. "Woah dude what happened?" I ask him. My mom looks at me and gives me the look. I knew she didn't want me to be in there. Me and Connor walk out of the room and head towards my room. "He looked pretty bad." Connor tells me. As he sits down on my bed I stand there wondering about what could've possibly happened. Right that moment my dad walks into the room. "You want to hear the story?" he asks. I nod and prepare to what I might hear. "Okay so this is what happened," he starts off, "there is a group of kids who were constantly picking on him. He never told us anything about it happening. Today they were saying things about him and, well, about you. They started to call you names, which really got to him. He told them to shut up and to leave him alone. The kids then were taken aback because he never stood up to them. There they decided to do what they did. You're brother was quickly sent to the hospital because of the damage they have done. Then we were called to go and that's the end of the story. They said he's going to be okay though, so there's no need to feel too scared or anything. He'll be better in no time." And then he walked out of the room without saying anything else.

"Poor kid." Connor says. I stand there thinking. My little brother defended me, when he chose to not even defend himself. I felt horrible. He looked really bad. "You okay?" Connor asks me. I look up suddenly remembering that he was still there. "Uh yeah, I'm fine I guess." I reply. I go to sit next to him. Connor looks at me and gets up quickly, "I have to go now. My parents are probably wondering where I'm at." I keep looking down at the floor and just nod. Connor walks out of my room and I hear him saying bye to my family. Then I heard the front door shut.

Ugh well, I have to go to sleep now. Tomorrow we go back to school. I hate school. I feel so left out. I have my best friends but, I don't know. I don't feel safe in that place. I hate it....

I suddenly wake up to someone knocking on my window. I look at my alarm clock right next to me and it's 1:26 AM. I slowly and carefully peek through the curtains trying to see what made the noise. As I look carefully, my eyes slowly start to adjust to the darkness outside. I see a figure sitting there. As I keep looking, the figure gets up and walks to my window again. I pull the curtains a little closer so that they wouldn't see me but where I could still see them. Again they go to knock. I squint my eyes trying to see who it is and of course I realize, how did I not guess it. It was Connor. I open the window as quietly as possible. "What are you doing?" I ask him. He quickly jumps in through the window and closes it.

I looked at him feeling confused. "What're you doing?" I ask him again. He looks at me realizing that him suddenly barging into my room in the middle of the night isn't really an everyday situation. He laughs and says, "Calm down I was just bored. You look like you just saw me murder someone."
