I was sitting on my bed watching TV quietly when I heard a knock on my window. Quietly I went to go peek and I saw Connor standing there with a backpack and his car keys. I let him in right away and he jumped in.
As I was closing it, I heard him speak up. "We're leaving."
I turned around confused and asked, " Leaving where? Who's we?" But he just ignored me and walked out of my room.
Still confused I followed him walking to my parents bedroom. Both of them were out eating today with the rest of my family. "Woah, what're you doing?" I asked trying to stop him from entering their room.
"Move." He said, pushing me aside.
I stood there looking at him, still very confused. I saw him look under the bed and pull out a backpack. I didn't even know it was there.
"Umm?" I started, " what's that?"
"You're stuff," he replied.
"What do you mean my stuff?"
As we walked back to my room he said, "your parents were keeping some of your things in here because we were going to go on a camping trip tomorrow and it was going to be a last minute thing for you. Me and Aravis had everything planned. But I want to leave tonight. Without telling our parents."
I took everything in as I turned off my TV. "Does Aravis know we're going to leave right now?"
"No, we're gonna go pick her up. So c'mon let's go." He said as he jumped out of my window. I hesitated for a moment but just decided to do it. I climbed out of my window and we got into his car to get Aravis.***
I'm sitting in the car waiting for Aravis to get her stuff, happy to hear we were leaving, and we go. Instead I noticed she stood at her door talking to Connor looking rather upset. Connor turned around and told me to go. I got out of the car and walked towards them wondering what was happening.
As I got closer Aravis said to the both of us, "You know there's a reason why I wanted it to be specifically tomorrow at that exact time." Connor and I waited there in silence for that reason. Since she noticed we weren't going to say anything she went on. "Tomorrow at twelve, I have to go to my cousins wedding. I was supposed to stay there until seven. Afterwards, I was going to come home and we leave at around eight. That's why I don't think leaving right now is a great idea. I would get into terrible trouble because of it."
I turned to look at Connor, "Now what?"
He stood there in silence looking at Aravis expressionless. Then he said, "Can we stay over and go with you to the wedding?" We stood there for a while waiting for her response.
Finally she said, "Fine. You can stay over, but we have to get you guys ready for the wedding early in the morning. He's going to have important people over and everything needs to be perfect. Including the guests."
So, with that, I turned around back to the car and got all of our stuff. With our backpacks in our arms, we made our way up to her room.
