Omniscient's POV

Kaydence woke up to see that Daniella wasn't under him nor was she next to him. He got out of bed and went into the bathroom because the light was on but she wasn't in there. He walked downstairs and into the kitchen because he figured she probably got hungry in the middle of the night but she wasn't there either.

"Dani?" He called out, hoping that she would appear but there was nothing. He looked outside and saw that her car was gone and that was off.

"The fuck?" He said to himself as he went back upstairs to get his phone. He hit her contact name and let the phone ring. It went straight to voicemail. It was 4 o'clock in the morning on Christmas and she hadn't told him anything about leaving and he knew for a fact that she didn't have to work so where the hell could she be?

He began to grow nervous after fifteen minutes of sitting. She hadn't returned his calls or text that he sent her but maybe he was over reacting. He called one more time and still, she didn't answer.

"Is he alright?" Daniella asked her father's doctor as tears leaked from her eyes. Her mom called her at 3:00 am and told her that her dad was having trouble breathing. Without even getting fully dressed, she rushed to the hospital. She'd forgotten to tell Kaydence but she knew that he wouldn't be awake until daylight.

"He's better Daniella." Dr. Quincy spoke. "We ran a few test and they should be back soon. . The only scary part is, we don't know what it is that's messing with his breathing." Everything that he said was sort of a blur to her and all she wanted was for her dad to be able to come home and spend Christmas with their family but everything wanted wasn't always granted.

"You just stay put and I'll keep you posted, okay?" Dr. Quincy broke her thoughts. "Okay. Thank you so much." She wiped her face with her hands and sat down in the waiting room. If there was one thing that she hated, it was being in the hospital when she wasn't working because she was never here for anything good.

She ended up dozing off and was awakened by the sound of wheels of a wheelchair strolling past. She looked up at the big clock in the receptionist area and it was almost 8:00.

"Shit." She got up and walked over to the heavyset woman who sat in a roller chair. "Any info on Daniel Rodriguez?"

"The doctor came down just a few moments ago to tell you something but you were asleep. Give me a minute and I'll call him back down for you ma'am."

"Thank you." She walked back over to her seat where her mom sat, silently. Not a word left her mouth since they were here and this made her even more nervous.

Kaydence was probably awake by now and the quicker she got some news on her father, the quicker she'd be able to tell him what was going on. She saw Dr. Quincy coming from a distance and decided to meet him halfway. "It's not looking too good. ." He spoke softly.

"Wh- what do you mean?"

"The cancer cells are spreading." She looked at him in disbelief as he explained to her that her dad would be in the hospital for a few days or even a few weeks. Her vision became blurry as she cried silently.

"Please help him Doc."

"I'm doing all that I can."
