Daniella's POV

Having to check on Carlos was my reason for coming back to Baltimore. I was worried as hell about him getting arrested for murdering OJ. He informed that OJ was also a friend of Kaydence's and if he was still breathing, Kaydence would've killed him himself. I was on my way back to Buffalo, riding in Ms. Celine's 2016 Lexus IS when my phone vibrated, indicating that someone was calling. I answered while still looking at the road.

"Hello?"

"Dani? Baby, it's me." Kaydence's husky voice came through the phone, causing me to almost swerve into the left lane. A man in a gray Suburban flipped me off.

"Baby! Where are you?" I took the phone from my ear and placed it on speaker. I had missed his voice so much and to know that he was okay was a blessing but he wasn't calling from the prison and that was off nor was he calling from his number, the area code was a New York one.

"With moms & Dior. Where you at?" I couldn't believe that he was home, my baby beat a murder case! This seemed too good to be true.

"Right outside of Buffalo." I smiled as if he could see me. "We're at the hotel."

"I'm on the way."

"I can tell you smiling girl but I'm waiting for you." It was a shame how well he knew me. "Okay." We said our goodbyes and ended the call although I didn't want to hang up. My emotional ass was on the verge of crying. I missed him so much and thought I'd never see him again.

Kaydence's POV

"Right now? I was about to handle some shit with my fam man." I said to Michael. He was on the phone telling me that there was an emergency at the trap and he needed me.

"Right now, this shit ain't good yo." I could tell he was serious but shit, I really wanted to see Daniella. "Aight, I'm on the way."

"I'll be back in 30 minutes, dude need his phone." I lied to my mama. Nine times out of ten, Dior already knew what was up.

"I'll let Dani know." She said, looking at me with a look of uncertainty. After leaving the hospital, I was pretty sure she knew the car was mine because not many people rode around in matte white on white Audi R8s but I wasn't gon' tell her.

I sped through traffic, trying to get to the trap as fast as possible so that I could get back to Dani. Shit, I was hoping that she would stay up here with me for a few days but I doubted it.

I pulled up in front of the trap behind Michael's car and hopped out. Ace barked until he saw that it was me coming in. I walked onto the porch and knocked twice, letting them know that it was me. The door swung open and a slim brown skinned woman stood in the door frame.

"Watch out." I said and gently pushed her out of the way. "Damn KD, have some respect for a man's wife." Michael chuckled from the couch.

"See, I told you baby. The fella is hard bodied." He spoke to his wife. This nigga was laughing and carrying on, it didn't look like an emergency to me.

"I see." She nodded and crossed her arms, sitting next to him on the couch.

"My bad about that but what's up?" I asked him, getting straight to business. "What happened last night?" The majority of the time, he knew the answers to his own questions but still asked em anyway.

"A lil drive by." I shrugged.

"Yeah, check this out. It's all on the news." He grabbed the tv remote and hit the power button. The box tv showed snow before clearing up and showing the local news.
