"So are you finally visiting us here sa bahay this weekend?"

"Yes, Mom."

"Are you sure? Baka maghahanap ka na naman ng excuse not to come home ha. I know you, anak. Ayaw mo sa mga gatherings na ganito."

"I'll be there. I promise."

"I'm counting on that promise, Isabel Beatriz."

"Yes, Mom... Uhh... Mommy?"

"Yes, anak?"

"I'll be going with someone."

I can hear my mom's tone change. It went from excited to worried-but-excited. Hahaha!

"Basta, basta. This weekend nalang po."

"Okay. I'm telling your Dad."

"Moooom! Don't tell him yet! I want to be the one to make pakilala. Pupunta ba si Kuya?"

"He's still not sure. Baka he'll be late daw because of meetings. Pero pinaintindi na niya Dad niyo. But you! You should be here, okay?"

I hung up and turned off the engine of the car.

I let out a big sigh.

This Saturday will surely change the game.

I haven't been fully open to my family about my sexuality. They know I've been on dates but they don't know with whom.

I gave them hints - that I like girls. I tried telling them once but they didn't seem to catch or they simply didn't mind at all.

Wala namang pressure around me to come out. I also know I have to do it on my own, in my own pace and time.
