Sam ran outside, calling Cassie on the way. She ran down the sidewalk towards home. It rang... and rang... and rang... and rang...

"Pick up the phone, Cass!!!" Sam shrieked to no one.

When Cassie didn't answer, she called Tony. He answered, "Sam? Aren't you in school?"

"Dad!!! Cassie sent me a really awful text and now she's not answering the phone and I'm really freaking out here!!"

"Whoa, slow down, I can't understand you. Cassie what?"

"I think she's trying to kill herself!" Sam yelled before hanging up. She ran up the stairs to their house. She was the first one there and didn't wait to barge in.

"Cassie!!!" She called. Walking through the house. "Cassandra! You answer me this minute!"

She ran upstairs and to their room, checking. She found a mess of clothes and other things. Cassie probably threw things in anger or frustration.

"Cassi-" Sam stopped short when she heard a grunting noise from the bathroom. She opened the door to find Cassie leaning against the counter, struggling to get a pill bottle open.

"Cassie- no!" Sam ran and grabbed the pill bottle. They each pulled, screaming and crying.

By this time, tony and ziva arrived, with an ambulance. Ziva came into the bathroom first. She ran over and grabbed Cassie. Cassie released the pill bottle, forcing it open and spilling everywhere.

Cassie sobbed and collapsed. "I wanna die!" She yelled.

Sam covered her mouth and turned to Tony, who was right behind her. The paramedics came in and helped ziva calm Cassie down enough to move to the ambulance. From there, they sedated her and took her to the hospital.

Tony, ziva, and sam stood around the bed, waiting for Cassie to wake up again. It had been six hours since the incident. Sam's eyes were red and puffy, and she stood with Tony's arm around her and her fingernails at the edge of bleeding from the chewing.

Cassie stirred and moaned. She barely opened her eyes, glancing at Sam first.

"Hey, sammi..." She mumbled.

Ziva walked over to her and put a hand on her head. "How do you feel?"

"Kinda funny..." cassie slurred.

"Yeah. The medicine does that... you really scared us..."

Cassie looked at sam. She studied her face for a moment, then moved on to go back to sleep. Sam leaned against Tony, sniffling. Ziva walked over. "Let's go get a snack. I think we all need a little break."

"But what about cas-"

"Never mind her, sam. The doctors will take good care of her if she wakes up again. Cmon."

~~~
At the snack place, sam poked at a slice of pie, her most favorite food of all times. She just didn't seem hungry. Tony and ziva walked over with their snacks.
"So," Tony started. "You mind telling us what this is all about?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, what was in that text Cassie sent you?"
Sam sighed, "oh.. right."
She proceeded to tell them about the message and how Cassie blamed herself for Sam's kidnapping.
"...So she thinks it's all her fault, but it's not! And that's not fair..."
"I agree," Tony said. "We need to talk to her about this. Without you getting in the way, Sam."
"What do you mean???"
"I mean that you are too emotional for her to be around. For her and you. So until her mood straightens out, you need to back off just a little more than usual."
"She's my sister, I promised I would always take care of her! I can't just back off!"
"Your father's right, sam," Ziva said softly. "Just give us a little time alone with our daughter. I'll call a friend and see if they can pick you up."
Sam ran her hand through her long, straight hair, sighing. She was too tired to argue. "Fine... just please.. don't let her die.. I can't live if she's dead..."
Ziva called Abby to see if she could take Sam. Abby was there within ten minutes.
"Sam, this is Abby. She works with me. She's gonna take you home, okay?"
Sam nodded, slightly zoned out. Her mind was clouded with thoughts of Cassie. So Sam got in the car with abby, and went home.
Sam waited up until Tony and ziva got back from the hospital around 3 AM. They walked inside and saw Sam in the living room, half asleep. She had half a cup of coffee in her hand.
Tony walked over and took the coffee gently. "Hey, sammi," He said softly.
She didn't move very fast, but sat up. "What happened?" She moaned.
Tony smirked. "Well, cassie is going to be fine. Your mom and I talked to her with the doctor. We're going to get her some help with some meetings with the doctor and other therapists. Don't worry. She'll be just fine. Now, you on the other hand, have school in the morning. Why don't you go get three and a half hours of sleep in bed?"
Sam nodded. She got up and headed to the stairs, then stopped. She turned and hugged Tony, leaning against him. "I love you, dad..."
Tony smiled and hugged back. "Love you too..."
Then Sam went to bed, knowing that everything was going to be Okay.
