In the summertime, Sam and Cassie didn't have much to do. They stayed home pretty much all the time. They turned sixteen over summer break. Being the first birthday back with their parents, it was a huge celebration.

A week later, they were settled down after the big disruption. Lots of cleaning happened afterwards, and they had to find places for their gifts. Everyone from team Gibbs came, which helped get Sam and Cassie to get to know them as well. They knew of all the agents, but didn't really get close.

Sam especially liked Gibbs and Cassie loved Abby. Cassie was watched carefully for a while after her incident, but she didn't show signs of wanting to hurt herself again. Sam hardly left Cassie alone. However, today, sam had no choice. She'd gotten some virus over the summer, and was vomiting and feeling awful.

Tony and ziva had never cared for a sick child before, even a teenager, so this was new. Ziva panicked, tony was a bit too relaxed. It happened to even out.

"I'll stay home from work with her," Ziva offered. "She can have whatever she wants and I'll make sure she gets rest and medicine and-"

"Ziva, you know you can't miss work," Tony cut in.

Cassie spoke up. "Guys, she's my sister, I can take care of her. I'll stay home with her."

Tony glanced at ziva. Cassie noticed the looks. "What??"

Ziva took a breath, considering out to say it. "Are you sure, cassie? That's very easy temptation for another... incident."

Cassie rolled her eyes. "I'm not gonna kill myself. I have a sister to take care of."

Ziva looked at tony, unsure of what to do.

"C'mon, guys. I'll be fine. She'll be fine. There's no other option. I'll call you if I can't handle it."

Tony bit his lip. "Okay, but only if you check in with a text every hour."

Cassie nodded. "Deal."

~~~~
Cassie took Sam's temperature every hour for the check up text to let Tony and ziva know how she was doing. She got her plenty of water and crackers to calm her stomach. Even some sprite.
As she refilled Sam's water for the eighth time, sam grabbed her hand and had her sit on the bed. "Whatcha need, Sammi?"
Sam smirked. "It's Sam... but I just wanted to know how you're doing... I mean. We talk every day but we don't talk about... it..."
Cassie nodded. "To be honest, I can't say that the feelings have stopped completely, but they've definitely improved. Especially with the meetings I have with Dr. Carter, that psychiatrist guy. I know I'll be fine eventually, it's just getting there that's a little hard..."
Sam smiled a little. "Good... and I'll be here to help you. Just TALK to me."
Cassie laughed. "Of course, sammi."
"Ughhh. It's Sam!" Sam laughed.
~~~~~~~
Tony walked over to Ziva. "Cassie seems to have everything under control at the house... maybe you wanna stop and get some dinner on the way home? Have a little date night?"

Ziva smirked. "Sure, why not."

Tony smiled. "Alright, I'll text Cassie and let her know."

So after work, tony and ziva went to a cute little restaurant in town. It wasn't huge, but it wasn't a café either. They ate a great dinner and eventually paid and got ready to leave.

They walked out the front door, and Tony stopped. Ziva walked a few more steps, then stopped, and turned to him. "Tony what are you-"

She gasped. There he knelt, on one knee, a small black box in hand. "Ziva... do I even have to ask?"

She smiled and covered her mouth in shock. He asked, of course, "will you marry me??"

Ziva nodded and walked over, kissing him immediately. He slipped the ring on her tender finger, then kissed again.

'Finally,' she thought.
