I closed my eyes.
"Please... Just let me go." I dared to open my eyes but couldn't look at him.
He lifted my chin with his finger and forced me to look at him. He smirked and let go, taking a step back.
"Alright." I couldn't believe my ears. I got up slowly turned around and opened the door. I stepped outside, taking in the scene around me, I was in a forest with no clue where I could go but I didn't care, I had to get away.
I ran off towards the trees and looked around for the best route to take. Despite the wind in the trees I could hear him sniggering. I tried to ignore him but he only got louder. Frustrated, I spun around and looked him dead in the eye.
"What are you laughing at?" I shouted.
"You'll never make it."
"Make what?" I turned away deciding on a path.
"Back to that life, the one you so hated. You'd never make it alive through that forest." He gestured all around.
"I don't care!" I screamed.
"Oh you don't? Well then, off you go!" He laughed.
I frustratedly ran my hands through my hair. My nerves felt like they were on fire. My legs buckled under me and I hit the floor. All I could see was the top of the trees, the world was spinning. He walked into view standing over me.
"Hurts doesn't it?" He asked.
"What's happening to me? What have you done to me?"
He simply smirked. Then grabbing my hair at the top of my head, lifted me off the ground and walked me back inside.
Throwing me to the floor in front of the fire. I shrieked in pain as my body tensed and my back arched. I felt like my body was on fire. I could hear him sniggering at me again as he took a seat and just watched me writhing about on the floor in pain. My body started seizing and my head was pounding so loud. I looked to him just as the world faded from view.
When I woke again I found I was still in the same place but now I was tied to a chair. I could feel his presence before I saw him walk into the room.
"What do you want with me?" I spat at him.
"Oh I already got what I wanted, your blood. Now it's your turn. What do you want?"
"To die." I shocked myself with my own words. I didn't mean them, not even a bit. I was scared of dying.
"We both know that's not true. You're a fighter. I'm going to help you continue that fight."
I went dizzy and the world seemed to be slipping from my grasp again.
"What... what do you mean?"
"I'm giving you a choice I never had." Drawing a knife he pulled up a chair and sat facing me. He played with the knife in his hands, keeping my attention as I tried to figure out what to say.
"What choice?" I mumbled.
"Simple. To live or die." He looked straight into my eyes as he ripped his shirt open and drew the knife down his chest. The wound seeped with blood instantly, ruining his crisp shirt. The blood standing out against his pale skin.
"Wha... what are you doing?" The smell of blood was overwhelming.
He grabbed my ropes and tilted the chair forward. I was eye level and as I saw the swirl he tucked my hair behind my ear and whispered "Drink."
He brought me to his chest and I tried to resist but somehow the closer I got the more I wanted to smell the blood. My nerves started burning again and against every instinct, I tasted the blood. I couldn't stop. It tasted so delicious and I pulled him closer, hearing a moan escape his lips. My legs started shaking and my whole body was tingling.
Throwing me back the chair almost flipped but to me the world was moving slowly. He stood up and walked out of the room. I licked my lips and suddenly my body got really heavy and my heart started palpitating. The world was spinning again and I couldn't see.
He came back into the room and tilted the chair back.
"Sleep now." And with that the darkness consumed me as I heard my heart beat for the last time.
The ache in my chest, the way my body felt like I was attached to strings, I could hear everything, the smell of him was overwhelming but most of all, the thirst was crippling.
I could feel his presence in the room
"Who are you?" I asked quietly.
"I'm Michael. Who are you?" He asked gently.
"I... I'm... Lizzie."
"Hm... Lizzie. I like that." Hearing my name on his lips sounded so sweet. "How do you feel?"
"Like I'm on fire."
Sitting me up he untied me from the chair and walked me to another room. There was a full sized mirror and he stood me facing it. I looked away but he turned my head back.
"You need to look." I looked at him then I glanced at the mirror. I gasped. I looked so different.
My hair looked darker and healthier. My skin was no longer a greyish pale but instead a perfect texture with no dark circles and a porcelain like colour. My eyes were swirling wildly and my body looked different.
I turned to him. "How? What?" I could barely speak.
"You're awake now." With that he left me in that room alone.
I stepped closer to the mirror and just could not believe my eyes. I went over to the bed and sat down in shock. I laid back and felt a rustling below me, there was a letter.
Lizzie,
You have a lot of questions? Well I wouldn't be surprised. Meet me in the woods and I can tell you all you need to know.
Michael
I walked outside to find him.
