When I awoke a week after the warning I decided it was time to meet the clan. It had been almost a year from that dreadful day. There impressions of me needed to be corrected, and rumours silenced. I dressed and applied a little make up and made myself presentable.
Leaving a snoring Damien I left the cove with the bags. I closed my eyes and sniffed up, East, the clan realm was east. I walked in that direction, following the scent. I reached the entrance withing minutes and as members of the clan were just waking and moving around I sat in the middle on a homemade wooden table.
Placing the bags down, careful not to reveal the contents I sat and waited preparing something to say. One of the woman vampires noticed me then aroused her tent and the neighbour ones too. Within ten minutes the whole clan was gathered and staring at me.
"Fellow clan members, probably too formal, anyway, I have brought gifts for you all and to help you out with your impressions of me. I hope you don't think me weak or selfish. I'm not trying to buy your support but I have items that you will love." They shifted forward to see. "Ah ah, not yet. "
"Do we all have something?"
"Not personally I don't think but you will all benefit from these things. So, ready to see what I have?" The clan nodded excitedly. I smiled turning around to put the bags in front of me. "So, I have, clothes for the women including... Bras and make up for you all each. For the men, I bring tools and a few clothes too. I have items to help with practical work and weapons." The women all were discussing the clothes, things getting heated. "Right, step back everyone, women line up." I walked down the line picking out suitable things for each woman. Make up was handed out appropriately as was the tools.
Afterwards I wondered around the camp meeting new people. Two hours later I reached the cove again and sat down, glad things went well. Watching Damien sleeping I reminisced my life, random but important things. I must have drifted off for I awoke again and found Damien sorting the cove out.
"Your so messy you." He grinned.
"Oh why thank you." I smiled.
I got up and leaving Damien tidying, went for a walk. I strolled through the trees barely aware of Damiens presence as I begun sort of skipping and humming a strangely familiar tune. I spun around trowing my arms in the air just letting myself go. I reached the river before I noticed as Damien was stood leaning against a rock with his arm, smirking at me. I walked towards him and as he was close, slipped under his arm and skipped around the rock.
I kept walking until Damien suddenly appeared in front of me. I looked up into his swirling eyes and smiled. He stepped slightly forward. "Nice humming!" He smiled. I put my hand on his chest. "Thanks." Then skipped off towards the river.
He followed as I paddled in the river. "What is it you love about this river so much?" He asked standing behind me but slightly to the side.
"The flow helps me to wash away my thoughts and feelings. To be free and calm." I looked down, he took my hand in his and I turned to look at him. He curled his lips slightly in a half smile then I looked away.
"You don't wash away all your feelings do you?" He asked stepping a little closer.
"What do you mean?" I lied, resisting his gaze.
"I think you know." I looked up at him. Tension building. What was he saying? I looked away. He allowed me a moment before stepping even closer and gently bringing my chin up so I had to look at him. He let go once I knew I wouldn't look away. He placed his hand on my face instead. Watching him, I knew what would happened but couldn't decode what to do. Those lips and the swirling eyes, the care that I didn't expect. He moved cautiously forward then as I closed my eyes, his lips were on mine, owning me but gentle and loving. I moved closer to him, putting my hand on his chest. He pulled away and looked at me. I wasn't sure what to do, wasn't sure how I felt.
I walked away into the water tears welling up. He came after m,e pulling my arm. I strained against him and he let go. I let the thoughts flow then turning slowly to look at him, I rushed towards him and taking his head in my hands, kissed him passionately in a angry lustful kind of way. He grabbed my waist pulling me towards him.
Biting my lip he made a slight moan escape my lips. I tiptoed slightly to match his height. Stepping back slightly, I lost my balance and we fell into the water. I reached the surface and we both started laughing. Getting out of the water I realised what had happened and ran off back to the cove.
Damine was shouting after me but it was no use, I was determined to get away to put space between us. I reached the cove and collapsed crying into my sleeping bag.
