I opened my eyes to faces I did not know. Heard voices I had never heard before. I was not sure where I was.

Then I saw Damien. Anger boiled up inside me.

"Lizzie. Let me explain."

"I hate you." He looked shocked but sighed.

"Luke is not gone. He's in a cell so you can say goodbye. I couldn't bare to take him away from you like that. You took quite a hit so we had to wait a while. Once you can walk you may say goodbye. The man that did this to you is gone." He searched my vacant expression.

Luke was alive.

I'd still have to say goodbye though.

"Spare him please."

"I can't. Clan rules Lizzie. I'm sorry."

"Leave me alone."

"As you wish." He was gone. I cried straight after he left.

"Luke." I couldn't believe he would actually be going and I'd be trapped here. Alone.

A day later Damien returned. He picked me up and carried me to the woods. He sat me down then returned with food. I fed as he held it steady. I was so very thirsty. It took a lot more feeding before he carried me back.

I refused to speak to him though only nod or shake my head.

Damien took me to feed every day after that. Eventually I could walk again but he still hunted for me.

My first individual hunt felt so good but I cried knowing that I now had to say goodbye.

I fell to the floor crying. Damien picked me up and cradled me. I was too weak to refuse or move. I cried into his chest. He rubbed my back gently and waited for me to calm enough so he could carry me back.

Damien hardly ever left my side. I'd like to think it was out of guilt but he would stop the pain if he felt guilt.

Days later I awoke to find Damien asleep. He had not moved from my bedside. I covered him with a blanket and took the book form his hands.

I then got up and went for a small walk. I needed to be alone.

I could not face losing Luke. I had no choice though. I needed to try and persuade Damien but something told me nothing would work.

I somehow managed to walk far enough to find a well. Next to the well was a brick structure with a basement style door. It was open. I looked around before going inside. I saw bars and saw Luke leaning against the opposite wall.

"Luke?" I whispered.

"Lizzie?"

"Yeah. I'm here."

"I'm so sorry."

"Don't be. He wanted it to happen this way. Luke they are going to kill you. Once I say goodbye. I'm trying to persuade him but it's not working."

"It's alright Lizzie. You'll get through this." The tears were falling.

"Luke. I love you."

"I love you too. You gotta go now. Or they'll notice you're gone." I nodded and kissed him through the bars.

I was almost back at the tent when Damien rushed out.

I looked up at him confused.

"Oh my god Lizzie where did you go?"
