Chapter 23: Hope

*Your Pov*
You sit impatiently in your room. You're dressed now in a nice, white summer dress.
You swing your feet off the edge of the bed and sigh. It was taking a long time.

You let your curiosity take hold of you and creak open your door a tad bit. You hold your breath and look around outside, searching for any clues at all telling you what to do.

You open the door a bit wider and jump, obviously startled, at someone's voice. You furiously look around, trying to see where the voice is coming from. You manage to catch a glimpse of a tall figure in a black trench coat and the end of his sentence.

"-know I'm inside yet."

By the time he was turning around to the next corner you snuck out of your room, nothing to hear except your own heartbeat beating faster and faster as you tip-toed down the hallway towards Jokers office.

You hold your breath as you get to a turn and peak your head around the corner before you continue.

Millions of thoughts race through your mind as panic slowly settles in.

'Who is this man? Is he going to take me? Is he going to take Joker? Is he going to hurt us? Oh god I literally just got him back. I can bare the thought of l-'

You stop yourself from thinking too negatively.

Hope. That's what you were relying on. That's all you had. You just hoped that was enough.

Since some of you insist that I update literally 2 minutes after I publish a new part, I think I'm going to start updating shorter chapters. I already have a plan for the end of this story since it's becoming a bit too much to handle for me. Please try to understand and don't be too mad.
