Roman Pov
After Raven and I left the hospital wing of the PackHouse, random thoughts rushed through my head. Raven isn't ready for this. Even though shes putting on a brave face, I can sense that shes scared. This is all my fault. This would never have happened if I kept my anger in check. I can't reverse this now. I have to be there for my Raven;mate and Luna. I'll do anything to keep her safe.
I was so into my thoughts that I didn't realize that Raven was calling me. "Roman, are you ok?" She asked. I sighed and gave her a little smile. "I'm fine Raven. I'm just worried about you shifting and the thought of you going through the pain, it's going to kill me." I said honestly. Raven just stared at me. Not saying a single word. She searched my face for anything that is good. I knew she wanted to say something but God, I wish I could read her mind.
As we were walking to our room, I felt the tension between Raven and I thickened. She was beginning to stress out. That's the first symptom of the transformation. "Raven, I need to get you somewhere safe and quiet." I said. She gave me a concern look. "Whys that?" She asked. "I can sense the tension between us. Its thickened. You're getting agitated. That's a temporary symptom of the transformation. I have to stabilize the tensions between us or it will make the transformation go faster. Putting you and the ones around you at risk." I said. Raven nodded and kept quiet. "Raven, I can't read your mind alright. I know you're scared but I'm trying to help you. You just got to trust me ok." I said looking at her. "I know Roman. I trust you." She said.
We arrived to our room and I opened the door for Raven. She walked in and went into the bathroom and slammed the door. I sighed and as I was about to sit down, someone was knocking on the door. "Son, is everything alright?" My dad asked. I walked out the room and closed the door behind me. "Its not, actually. Raven's transformation symptoms are coming to quickly. The tension between has already thickened. She's getting agitated." I said raking my hand through my hair. "I see. Roman, you need to bring her to the bunker. It'll keep her safe when the full transformation occur. It will keep the rouges from getting to her as well." He said giving me the keys.
I looked at him and sarcastically laughed. "I guess Dr Bradi told you about the rouge situation too ehh?" He nodded. "I'll have all the Beta wolves on guard around the area. Roman, you'll watch Raven. Try to keep her calm through the shift, ok." He said. I nodded and went back inside the room. Raven was laying on the bed, facing the wall. I walked to her and sat next to her. I put my hand on her leg. "Raven, are you ok?" I asked. "Yea, I'm fine." She said in a low tone. I let out a deep breath.
"Raven I'm so sorry. This would have never happened if I had listened to you. All this happened because my hatred for Sami gotten the best of me. You should know that I thanked Sami for saving you from Invidia. All because of my bad judgment, your going through this. And I'm so damn sorry." I said. Raven sighed in aggravation. "Roman, stop blaming yourself for this. None of this is your fault. I need you to think all this through. The only reason we're in this situation is Kevin and Invidia. You can't let them see you vulnerable at this moment. If they do, they'll take advantage of it." She said.
I sat there and tried to comprehend what she said. She's right. Kevin would take this as an advantage. I can't let them get that chance to. "I understand Raven. I just don't want to lose you. I want to protect you and keep you safe. That's what Alphas do. They protect their pack and their mate. That's why I'm not taking any chances. I'm taking you to the pack's bunker. You'll be safe and when you transform, you'll be safe and protected." I said getting up.
Raven stood up and looked up at me. "So basically, you're keeping me in a cage?" Raven asked folding her arms. I walked to my door. "Just trust me ok. When you're shifting, you and your wolf will be dizzy. The dizziness is caused by the pain of the transformation. Your wolf will freak out. So to keep you safe, you'll be secured in the bunker." I said
Raven just nodded her head and followed me out the room. The bunker is part of the hospital wing of the PackHouse. While we were walking, I kept stealing glances at Raven. Even though I couldn't see her thoughts, I knew she had a lot of questions.
Once we arrived at the hospital wing, we walked to the bunker's door and with the key that my dad gave me, I opened it up. A ladder led down into the main bunker. I went down first and made sure everything was in its place. Once done I called Raven down. She started to climb down and she jumped the rest of the way. I caught her in my arms, making sure she didn't hurt herself.
I closed the door; locking it before I came back down. Raven looked around the room and sat on the bed. It wasn't as big as our bed back in our room. Well, it was close to it. "This is were newbie wolves go through their first shift. It keeps them safe and out of harm's way. " I said. I walked past her and went to the mini fridge, opening it and getting Raven a water.
I walked to her and handed her the bottle. She looked at the bottle and gave me a confused look. "You'll need it. The first non temporary symptom is dehydration. Your body temperature will rise and you'll be overheated." I said. I sat next to her and she took the water."So what's the other symptoms then?" She asked. "The other symptoms are dizziness, heavy breathing and pain." I added. Raven nodded and sighed. She began to toy with the bottle of water. I kept my gaze on her and I didn't look away. She was nervous about all of this, yet scared. I don't blame her for being this way. I was like this too. I endured the same thing. The pain was so excruciating and I couldn't control myself. My mom tried to comfort me but my dad told her to let the transformation run its course. So now I have to make sure that Raven doesn't hurt herself during her transformation.
Raven Pov
After Roman and I settled down in the bunker, we talked for a while.
He told me all the transformation symptoms and stuff. After that, we just talked about random topics. We kept talking until Roman fell asleep, which left me up by myself. I kept looking at Roman sleeping, peaceful features. "How can you look so handsome while you're sleeping", I whispered. As time passed, I played in Roman's hair; braiding it and unbraiding it once done. Boredom struck me and started to roam around the bunker. It wouldn't killed them to put in a TV or something. Then an idea came to mind, but I didn't want Roman to wake up though. I plan on having some fun in the PackHouse's game room for a little bit. So, I quietly removed the keys from Roman's pocket. He stirred up a bit but he didn't wake up fully. I climbed up the ladder and existed the bunker, but not locking it thought.
I played some games for some time then I was getting a little thirsty. Then the thirst grew and grew. I can feel my heart rate increase every second. I ran to the kitchen, turned the kitchen sink on and hastily lapped water from the faucet. The thirst wasn't going anywhere. Beds of sweat formed on my face and my hands gotten sweaty.
I started to hyperventilate and I clutched the collar of my shirt. And if things couldn't get any worse, the pack alarm went off. The loud noise made it worse for me. I covered my ears and fell on my knees.
I cried out in agony and then a wave of pain washed over me. Oh, the irony of all this. I felt my spine slowly and painfully reshape itself. My teeth became pointed and the skeletal part of my head started to reshape too. Small stands of fur started to grow from my body and my clothes were ripping up. The bottom half of my spine extend and formed a tail and my nails grew into claws.Things were happening so quickly. I tried to stand up but I couldn't find my balance and my eyes weren't able to focus properly. I looked up to see a large gray rouge wolf staring at me. He motioned towards me but Roman took him down and snapping his neck in the process. Roman looked at me and shock and horror was plastered on his face. He rushed over to me and tried to pick me up but a large brown rouge wolf tackled him off me. Roman shifted into his wolf and started to fight the rouge.
I tried to to help but I couldn't control my body. I was on fours and they were wobbly and hard to use; like a baby trying to walk, but fwhoed to do so. I whined in distress. I tried to balance myself again but a large figure stopped me. I looked up to see a guy, who had a menacing smirk plastered on his face. "Hello future Luna" He said. He took out a needle that held a red serum in it. I couldn't stop him from injecting the serum into my shoulder. My eyes became heavy, the rest of my body fell with a thud and the darkness overtook my new wolf body.
