As predicted the two of you did not sit in that cell for very long. The rest of the trial neither of you wished to attend so you sat at home. Currently, Sherlock was deep in his mind palace and you were reading in John's chair. You glanced up when Sherlock started whispering to himself. You couldn't make out what he was saying so your eyes flicked down to the words on the page in front of you.

"Innocent" Sherlock said a lot louder. He looked a little upset and grabbed his phone just as it started ringing.

"Hello John." Sherlock said while he put the phone on speaker so you could also hear what was happening.

"The whole jury found him innocent." John exclaimed.

"I have to go John." Sherlock said hanging up. Sherlock glanced around the room his eyes falling on you.

"Your phone is ringing." Sherlock said right as your phone started vibrating on the small table. Mycroft's name blinked across the screen and you picked it up.

"Yes."

"I need you to come to my office right now." His voice grave. You glanced up to Sherlock who nodded without saying a word. You hung up the phone and gave Sherlock a kiss on the cheek.

"Be safe." You said more as a warning. You grabbed your coat and rushed down the twelve steps and out onto the street. A slick black car pulled up to the curb and the door slid open as you stepped in. The car sped off as you watched the streets of London slide on by.

"Mycroft." You said stepping into his office. You found John reading some files already comfortable.

"Good your here.  We have to talk."  Mycroft's voice reached your ear with a touch of venom. You blinked and sat down next to John. John offered you a smile while Mycroft pushed a stack of files into your hand. You opened the first one and a familiar name jumped out at you. Another assassin. You flipped through each file seeing the names of all too familiar assassins. A few of them you had run into during my work.

"Why did you give me these?" You asked looking up at Mycroft who was watching you read through them.

"Maybe you can offer and explanation as too why all them have moved near or in the same building as you and Sherlock." Mycroft said. You lips parted almost muttering a string of obscenities as you understood. You nodded taking the hint. Figure out why there are assassins moving in. Don't let Sherlock know what was going on and protect him at all costs.  You stood dropping the files on Mycroft's desk.

"I will talk with you later." You whispered as you stepped out. Your brain was racing trying to figure out the answer to your new problem. You waved off the car and decided to walk back to the flat and was quickly met with the matched gait of John who decided to join you.

"Why do you think they are there?" John asked whispering. You glanced at him and shrugged.

"When assassins gather it is never for a good thing." You answered and picked up your pace as the wind also picked up. What you didn't know was that Sherlock had a visitor while you were out.

Moriarty's Visit- Sherlock's POV

I watched as y/n walked out. The door slamming shut brought me out of my trance. Moriarty was on his way over here. I picked up some of the mess caused by the three of us and started boiling the kettle. I plucked my violin out of it's case and started playing right as the front door opened. My heart was racing, but I acted as if I knew nothing.

I heard the creak of the steps and stopped playing glancing back at the door. He sure was taking his sweet time. I started playing again regaining control of my emotions. The flat door swung open and I stopped playing.

"I put the kettle on." I said calmly before turning around to meet his eye. He gave me a grin and picked up an apple out of the bowl. I followed him with my eyes as he took my seat asserting his supposed dominance. I watched the tapping of his fingers against his knee for about three seconds before the kettle whistled and I went to make the tea. I resisted the urge to drug him and brought him his tea and settled into John's seat.

"...Couldn't cope with an unfinished melody." Moriarty finally finished some rant.

"Neither can you, that's why you've come."

"Be honest your a tiny bit pleased."

"With what the verdict?" I asked. Trying to seem indifferent to him sitting in front of me.

"With me back on the streets. Every fairy tale needs a good old fashioned villain. You need me or you're nothing. Because we are just a like, you and I, except your boring. Your on the side of the angels."

Our conversation continued. Of course Moriarty got to the jurors through the cable. Simple. Now the conversation turned interesting when Moriarty admitted to having a line of code that could open anything.

"The man with key is king." His voice bounced around in my head as I thought about it.

"And honey you should see me in a crown." My eyes focused back on him. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at his theatrics.

"I owe you a fall." Was Moriarty's last sentence to me as he set the apple down on the table. Carved rather rudimentary into it was I O U. He was gone. I had let him walk out of the building and now while I waited for John and y/n to return I was lost in my mind palace.

"I owe you." Brought me back from my mind palace. I found y/n hovering over me studying my face.

"He is fine." She called over her shoulder while offering me a smile. I returned it afraid for her life already knowing exactly how this would end. He was going to win.
