Dakota's POV:

It's Saturday, so today we get to do whatever we want!

Darry cleaned out the basement a few days ago before his 21st birthday. We found stuff we didn't even know we had! There's a pool table down there, a couch, couple of chairs, and other things. I decided to go down and play after breakfast.

"Where you goin munchkin?" Soda asked as I grabbed my new blanket off the couch. "Down to the basement." I said tying my blanket around my neck to make it look like a cape. "Can I go down with you?" Soda asked. I cocked my eyebrow the way Two-bit showed me. "It's boring up here."
I giggled and nodded.

Soda and I went downstairs and played hide and seek. It was fun, but there was not very many places to hide.

I hid under the pool table. I threw my blanket over me. I heard footsteps come near me. I tried not to giggle. I felt a hand touch my foot and pull me out from under the pool table. I laughed and squealed as Soda tickled me. "Nice try, munchkin."

Later, Dally came over and taught me how to play pool. Well, I'm not big enough for a pool stick, so I just played with my hands. Dally also taught me how to play gin rummy. I played with Soda, Steve, and him. I wasn't keeping score, but I'm pretty sure Soda won, because he cheats a lot.

We sat on the couch and just hung out, until the door to upstairs opened. "And this is the basement we forgot we had." I heard Ponyboy's voice say. I looked in his direction. He was with another guy. And boy, was he cute! He had dark brown hair and eyes. He's the cutest boy I've ever seen! "Hey Brian." Soda said. Brian? I never heard that name.
"Hey." Brian said back.
"Oh, this is Steve and Dally." Pony said introducing them. "They're part of the gang." Brian said hi to them. Ponyboy turned to me. "And that's my little sister, Dakota." I blushed a little as Brian looked at me.
I waved. "Hi."
"Hi." Brian smiled a little.

They went back upstairs. "Aw." Steve said. I glared at him, knowing what he was going to say. "Dakota has a crush."
I shook my head. "No I don't."
"Yes you do."
"I don't like Brian."
"Wait what?!" Steve basically screamed. "I said you had a crush. I never said that you liked Brian." I blushed again. Dally smirked and Soda tried not to laugh as Steve squealed like a stuck pig. I got off the couch and went upstairs.

As I walked up, I had the sudden urge to go in Ponyboy's room where him and Brian were. I know Ponyboy will be mad if I do. I can't help myself. I walked over to the door. Surprisingly, it was open! I stood in front of the doorway.

Ponyboy's POV:

In the corner of my eye I saw Dakota standing at the doorway. I was deciding if I should let her in my room or not. I haven't seen Brian in a long time. His brother and him are really close, since his mom doesn't care and their dad is in jail. I haven't really asked him to hang out since 7th grade.

I remembered that Dakota's 6th birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, so I decided to be nice and let her in. "Dakota, I know you're there." I said looking down at the floor. Dakota came in front of me. "What are doing?" I asked.
"Nothing." She said. "I'm bored."
I shrugged. "We're not doing anything either." Dakota looked passed me. I followed her gaze. She was looking at Brian. I smirked. "Hey Brian, wanna play hide in seek?" Brian looked over. He looked at Dakota, then at me, then back at Dakota. He shrugged. "Sure."

Dakota's POV:

I hid in the bathroom with Brian. I giggled as he pulled me into the bathtub. I cuddled into his chest so we couldn't be seen. Brian tickled my sides. I giggled and pushed his hands away. At that time Ponyboy came in and then walked out.

I hugged Brian. "You're fun." I whispered. "You too, kid." He smiled. I sat back and thought of the question I wanted to ask him. I took a deep breath. "Do you have a girlfriend?" I asked. He looked a little taken aback. "No why?"
"You want one?" I asked sweetly. Brian chuckled. "I think you're a little too young for me."
"Oh." I said as I looked down in the tub.
Brian hugged me. "I'll be your friend though." I smiled and nodded, even though I was a little sad.

The next day, Darry kept asking me questions about my birthday. He asked where I wanted it, I told him the park. He asked what kind of cake I wanted, I told him chocolate. He asked what I wanted, I told him a horse....He said nice try. 16 days are so far away.
