Avi's POV
"Are you sure she's not gonna be here?" I asked Kevin as we pulled up to Scott and Mitch's place. There were already a ton of people here and the party had already started, but Scott's car wasn't here. Weird.
"Yes I'm sure," Kevin said simply and got out, walking to the door and knocking on it. Moments later, a blonde guy answered the door. "Alex, is Scott here?" Kevin asked as we walked in.
"No, the trio is on their way. He texted me and told me to go on ahead and start the party. Right up my alley," he said with a laugh. He walked away, presumably to refill his cup.
"Have fun. I see Alyssa," Kevin told me and disappeared into the crowd before I could say anything. Sighing, I walked into the kitchen and fixed myself a water, not really feeling like drinking at the moment. Instead, I sat on the couch and watched silently as the music started getting to everyone and they started dancing. What can I say, it was entertaining, especially since some people were already hammered.
Ivy's POV
We pulled up to the house and I got out with a small sigh. How did I let them talk me into this? I looked around, my eyes landing on a very familiar car. Avi's car. "Nope. I can't do this," I said as I turned around and started walking back to the car. "Take me home."
I was stopped by three pairs of hands holding me back. "Listen here Missy. We did not spend over a hundred bucks on you just for you to chicken out. You have on a freakum dress (leave it to Mitch to use a Beyoncé reference) and you're gonna use it. Now here's what's gonna happen. You're going to walk in there with your confidence exploding. You're going to scan the room until you see him. You're gonna wait for him to see you, then smirk, wave, and walk the other way," Mitch said, his sassy side taking me back. I knew he was sassy but damn.
"I'd listen to him. He's been through these things before," Kirstie said and Scott nodded, his ocean blue eyes wide with amusement.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. I looked at my reflection int he mirror to check myself before nodding firmly. "You're right," I said simply. I followed them to the door, Scott walking in with a yell.
"The Queen has arrived!" Mitch yelled over the noise, causing me to laugh. I hesitated briefly before looking around, though it didn't take me long to find a pair of wide green eyes staring at me. I swear with the way Avi's mouth kept opening and closing, you'd think he was a fish out of water.
I remembered what Mitch told me and smirked ever so slightly gave a small wave. Turning without another glance, I walked into the kitchen and immediately let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Fixing myself a drink, I took a small sip and smiled at the burning liquid and closed my eyes, letting myself relax a bit.
"This isn't what I was expecting when I saw you next. All dressed up at a party hosted by the best a Capella group in the world." I froze at the voice and turned around, looking up at the man that had spoken.
"Dean. I wasn't expecting you here."
"Why are you here?"
"Because my friends, Scott, Mitch, and Kirstie invited me. It pays to work with the best a Capella group in the world," I said with a raised eyebrow. "And why are you here? And where is your whore of a new girlfriend?"
"I know the right people and I tossed her to the side. She was too emotional after you caught us."
"That wouldn't have happened if you were actually respectful of the fact that you had a girlfriend."
"Come on Ivy. It was a mistake. Give me another chance."
"I think you should leave me alone. I want nothing to do with you, Dean."
"You're going to give me another chance. If not then I'll make sure you'll regret it," he said, his whole demeanor changing.
"I think the lady said to leave her alone," a familiar deep voice said. I felt an arm on my shoulder and instantly tensed up, glancing over at Avi.
"Moved on already, huh. It's been just over a week, Ivy. And of all people, him?" Dead said, narrowing his eyes as he sized Avi up. "I suggest you keep in mind that she's mine."
"No I'm not. I'm no one's. I'm not a piece of property," I said, straightening up defensively.
"You'll regret that statement Summers." With that he walked away in a huff, and I immediately moved out of Avi's reach.
"Are you okay?" he asked, concern etched all over his face.
I stared at him silently thinking about my words carefully. "Don't act like you care. You made it clear last night how you feel about me. Or were you talking about Catherine? Either spill or stay away from me," I said quietly, feeling a burning sensation in the back of my throat and eyes.
He opened his mouth and closed it again several times. Shaking my head, I turned and walked away, ignoring the sound of my name coming from his mouth.
A/N: Yay! Double post!!! I've pretty much decided that there will be something BIG in the next chapter so stay tuned. DUN DUN DUN!
