Chapter 25 secrets (Lydia's POV)

It's a Saturday morning and I'm in Starbucks ordering hot chocolate. "name?" the employee asks me. "star." I mutter. he rights down my name on the cup and hands the cup over to a young woman around my age. when I wait in line for my drink I glance down at my phone. I have no idea who this is who's calling me. "h-hello?" I studder. "Lydia?" someone whispers over the phone. I stay silent. "it's me, Joey grills." my mouth just drops when I hear that name scramble threw my mind. "joey? is that really you?" I start to pick up the conversation. "yes, look I can't talk for long, I'm still in jail please come visit me, like now." "ok I wi-" before I could say another word he hangs up. "star?" I run over to the woman who has my drink and I grab it out of her hands. I nod my head at her and scurry out the doors and I jump into my car, start the engine and start to drive. Why am I doing this? I haven't seen Joey in over 5 years.. I wonder what he looks like. is he cute? no Lydia Stahp! you like Mitch remember! I snap back to reality and realize I'm here!

I step out of my car and look up at the huge jail place thing. I take a deep sigh and walk inside the building. "hello ma'am!" the front desk women greets me. "hey umm I'm hear to see, Joey grills?" "oh yes go down the left hall." "thanks." I smile back at her and go down the hall she pointed to. I soon approach some cops and I big open room with telephones hooked up to little rooms on the other side. "who you looking for?" one police man asks me. "uhh Joey grills?" I mumble. "ohh him.. ok I will get him please sit down at that booth. he points down at this one booth that's in the corner. when I walk over there it feels like my whole life is going to change in just a matter of time, my old love, I'm going to see him again. I let out a little smile and sit down and wait.

It was just a matter of time until someone speaks over the speaker. "l-Lydia?" I hear the same voice I heard on the phone. I look up and see him, Joey. he has a cut across his forehead, his curly hair is gone, his hair is completely shaved but those eyes I will never forget. there a blue and green color that just sparkles in the light. "Joey!" I sit up straight and get closer to the glass. "I-I'm so so-sorry." He places his forehead against the glass, I could see him tearing up. "It's ok." I try to calm him down. "how long have you been in there?" "I was out of jail for about 2 years, I was actually looking for you but you but I couldn't find you anywhere soon enough I started to do drugs again.. I'm so sorry Lydia I-" "you been looking for me?" I cut him off. "for 2 years and i finally found you." I smile goes across his face. "how have you been?" he asks me. I stop and think for a bit of what my life is like. "I'm living my dream here in L.A. with sarah, I'm dating a youtuber who has inspired me for years." I let out a smile. I look at him and he starts to tear up again. "I miss you." he whispers. "I miss you too." I wipe away a tear. "times up." The police man on joeys side says to him and he drags him out. "wait! wait! Lydia I love you and I always will!" the I hear the door close shut. "I love you too!" I bang on the glass for him to come back, but then I have a weird feeling deep in my heart, I turn around and see Mitch standing there looking at me like he was hurt.

"Are you cheating on me?" he steps closer to me. "Mitch-" "I should of known not to date a fan." I could see tears in his eyes too. "Mitch! come back!" I yell but he doesn't listen. "mitch!" I chase after him down the hall and out the doors. "Mitch-" I place my hand into his warm shoulder. "don't-" he pulls away and steps into his car. "He's a friend!" I start to cry. "yah you two seem pretty close." he shuts the car in my face and drives away from me, what have I done? do I really like joey? no I can't I like Mitch, or do I? ugh! this is confusing! I know who can help me, britney. I dial up Britney's number, "hello?" I'm glad to hear her voice again. "I need help." "What is it?" she asks confused. I take a deep sigh and start to explain everything. "so you saw Joey again..." she sounded kinda disappointed... "yes and he still loves me and I don't know who I like more!" my voice begins to raise. I could hear Britney sigh over the phone. "it's your choice." "No- Britney I need you to help me choose who!" "look Lydia I don't know much about your love relationship but I can tell you this, remember Joey is in jail for doing drugs, he has no money." it became silent. "but Mitch otherwise, he has money, doesn't do drugs!" she explains to me. "Thanks for the help." I say and hang up on her before she can explain anything else. I hop into my car and head back home.

35 minutes later

I finally make it home and I see Mitch's car is gone, I don't really worry about it so I step into the house and see Sarah hanging up little quotes around the house. "hey! what's wrong?" she steps off the later and wipes the sweat off her forehead. "I saw Joey again." I look over at her and she has a surprised look on her face. "Mitch thinks I'm in love with him." "Well are you?" sarah steps closer to me. "I don't know, really..." I look down at my black vans and start to think who I really do like... "Is Joey getting out of jail or somthing?" I start to think back with Joeys and I conversation, I remember him saying something about getting out but I forgot when he said he was... "I'm not sure when.." I see Sarah's face and I can tell it's bringing back the memories with her and kaden. "If u had to choose between them, who would you choose?" I ask her the same question I asked britney. "well whoever makes me smile!" she smiles. "easy for you, you always smile even if your hurt!" I explain. she shrugs her shoulders and heads into the kitchen to get something to drink. "here." she hands me a glass of lemonade. "thanks." I take a sip of the lemonade and the flash backs fly threw my head. back in 8th grade I went on a picnic with him, and he made me lemonade just for me. I open my eyes and see sarah staring at me. "you alright?" she waves her hand infringement of my face. "Yeah, I think I just need to think..." I stroll over to the couch and I see midnight curled in a ball sleeping on the couch, I let a little smile come out of my mouth and I start to pet the kitten. Mitch did give me this cat, he must really care about me though.. I'm not sure how he found me but I bet he was worried.. I let out a sigh and lean my head back. why is love so confusing? I drift into a light sleep.

My dream

Were am i? I think to myself. I look around and find out I'm in a small trailer which is really dirty. "gross." I scrunch my nose up. "baby come here!" I hear a man yell from outside, I'm going to take it as that's my husband.. I step out of the trailer and see a shirtless guy in his boxers, it's Joey. I'm married to joey? "baby there you are! I have to tell you something!" he opens up his arms for a hug. I get closer to Joey and he raps his arms around my body. "I'm so happy you chose me."

Just then the setting changed, I was in a normal sized clean house, I step closer to these pictures that look like wedding pictures, it's me and Mitch! ok now I'm married to Mitch? that's confusing. "going to work love you bye!" Mitch runs out the door before I could even give him a kiss goodbye.. ok that's it!

I waken in from the two dreams I had. "I- i-" i was speechless. but even if I was out of words I knew who was right for me.. I grab a light jacket and head into my car, "here we go.." I start to engine and slowly drive away from the house. I never felt so Alive
