Jacey
I warily stood at the bay doors with Nyree and Lacey; Their flight was now boarding, and even though we've been waiting for a good 30 minutes, I still wasn't ready for them to leave. I took note of the weird feeling that was starting to form in my stomach. I felt like something was wrong.
I shrugged it off, knowing it was only because they were about to board this plane. I stooped down to give Lacey a hug and kiss on the forehead. She game me a big smile as she returned my hug. "You be good for mommy, okay kiddo?" I smiled.
"You're not comin' with us?" she asked me for the third time. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't; at least not right now. "No sweetheart, I can't go with you guys, but I promise you'll see me again".
Her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree as she held up her little pinky. "Pinky promise?", she challenged. "Pinky promise." I grabbed her little hand into mine so we could interlock our pinkies, making her smile wider. She gave me another hug before stepping back to stand next to her mother.
I turned my attention back up to her, "I'll see you soon, Nyree", I smiled. She blushed, taking a sudden amount of interest in her feet. I softly grabbed her chin, lifting it up to face me. I didn't care about her being nervous about kissing me in front of Lacey.
She was leaving me; yea I was still coming to get her, but for this moment in time I had to say goodbye for now.
"How will you see me again? It's not possible", she murmured. "Anything is possible with me, love." I gave her one long kiss before she pulled away to board the plane. I stood there, watching as they walked the jet-way.
Before they both disappeared, Nyree turned to look back at me one last time. That was when I felt it again; that weird feeling in the pit of my stomach.
The feeling I get when my body could sense that something was wrong. Foolishly, I ignored it again as I blew her a kiss. I stood there a few more minutes after they were gone before I mustered up the courage to walk back to my car.
I began to head back home as I grabbed my phone to take it off airplane mode; I wanted to make sure no one interrupted us yesterday. The second I tapped on the plane icon, a voicemail from Monty came through.
I didn't even have to listen to the whole voicemail; by the tone of his voice I knew he found some dirt on Jourdin. I rushed over on his side of town so I could finally find out what the fuck Nyree's fiancee is up to.
Nyree
I felt weird about coming back home; something just felt different. Jourdin was there at the airport to pick us up, but as he held me in his arms my body couldn't help but flinch.
As we pulled up to our house, I felt completely out of place; it didn't feel like home anymore. I was quick to play it off around Jourdin, but in my head I was a nervous wreck.
I don't understand why or even what was going on with me. I had to keep myself from jumping at the sound of his voice. "You and Lacey should go ahead and lay down, I know you guys are probably tired."
I nod my head in agreement; that's the only thing I wanted to do right now, but I needed another shower. I made sure to take one before we left, but I just needed to be sure. I needed to get rid of any evidence of Jacey.
