Nyree

"You've officially lost your mind." I said to Jacey as we walked around the park. Luna offered to take the kids while all the adults rode on some of the rollercoasters. He and Monty were trying to convince me to get on Mr. Freeze, but I wasn't having it.

Jacey knew full well that I was terrified of heights; not only that, I've seen Final Destination 3 too many times to every trust one of these major attractions. I couldn't help but think we'll end up falling to our deaths.

"You don't like rollercoasters, 'Ree?" Hemily asked. Just from the few hours I've spent around her, I could honestly say I liked her. Most of the time she was quiet, but when she did engage in conversation, she had us all laughing.

I still couldn't shake the feeling of déjà vu every time I looked into her almond shaped eyes. Maybe she was just one of those people with a familiar face. "She's scared of heights." Jacey teased as we passed up the Superman ride.

"If you know I'm scared of heights,  you should know that my answer is HELL no." I stated with my arms crossed. Mr. Freeze was out of the question. The only ride I could tolerate was the Batman ride.

I liked the fact that they designed the bar to pull down from the top; it made me feel a little more secure. They gave you the option to take off your shoes,  which I always do. It wasn't so high up, and you felt like you were really flying.

I pushed back my hair that was flying from the cool breeze. It was early October, and yet it was still 80 degrees. That was one of the main things about the great state of Texas; no matter what day of the year, we experience all seasons.

"You can't come to Six Flags, and not get on rides." Jacey said. "Says who? Who's to say I didn't just come for the food?" I smirked. I haven't been here since I was way younger, and I was dying to get my hands on one of them damn funnel cakes.

I just hated that all the good food places are spread out all over the park. Don't nobody wanna walk across the park just for some Dippin' Dots. Jacey rolled his eyes, unable to hold back his laughter.

"C'mon baby, please? We can go on somethin else first if you want; your choice." I smiled and clung to his shoulder as we continued walking through the park.

His face fell when he looked up and saw the yellow and black Bat symbol. He looked at me with a smirk, "Really?" "You said anything." I grinned. I pulled him inside, and we climbed the stairs with Monty and Hemily following right behind us.

We were next in line as we all stood behind the gates that kept us from moving forward. I chanced a glance over at Hemily. I noticed her eyes were trained on something on the opposite side, where the exit was. I tried following her gaze to see what had suddenly had her so spooked, but what or whoever it was had already disappeared.

The gates flew open as the previous riders unstrapped themselves from the ride, and in no time we picked our seats. Jacey and Monty wanted to ride in the very front; something I couldn't bear to do. Riding the coaster was one thing, but I couldn't be in the very front, it was too much.

Hemily and I took the row directly behind them. We waited patiently as the instructor gave everyone the run down on how to secure the bar. I childishly kicked my feet, waiting for the pimple faced kid to press the button when I felt a chill go through me.

Subconsciously, I took a look around and behind me; the hairs standing up on the back of my neck told me I was being watched. None of the faces looked familiar, so I relaxed a little. Maybe it was just a breeze; I was barefoot after all.
