Jacey

None of us knew what to think when Danté muttered those words, but I could tell by the venom in his voice that he wasn't lying. Hemily stared at her brother, almost at a loss for words.

"Our parents died in a car crash, Té; Andy said so." She said more so to herself than Danté. "The cops told him that shit so he wouldn't go snooping around. It wasn't an accident, he murdered them." Danté let one off and it ended up in Armel's leg.

Hemily was the only one that jumped from the loud gunshot. Everyone else just watched silently, guns still aimed. She started screaming when Danté shot him in the other leg.

I was still lost; I didn't even know Danté and Armel knew each other. As many times as we talked about him, Danté never said anything. And it puzzled the fuck out of me how freaked out Hemily was gettin over this worthless nigga.

Maybe it was just the fact that she's never really heard a gunshot so up close. That, and all of the blood seeping from his limbs. "I dare you to lay here and lie to my fuckin face."

I could tell he was about to shoot again, but the sound of another gun cocking is what held him back. Hell even I was shocked to see Hemily pointing a gun between Danté and Armel; I don't think anybody even saw her move.

"Somebody tell me what the hell is goin on." She demanded, having no idea how to even hold the gun correctly. An inexperienced shooter was most dangerous. Make them jump or flinch in the slightest, and someone's guaranteed to get shot.

Danté automatically dropped his gun, raising his hands in the air. "What are you doing Hem? Put the gun down." She violently shook her head, finally aiming the gun perfectly. In a way I was still nervous, but also kinda proud.

"I'm not doin shit until you tell me what's going on. How do you know him?"

"I don't know him! At least I didn't know who he was, but I'll never forget his face. You gotta listen to me Hem, give me the gun." He begged, reaching his hand out, but Hemily wasn't having it.

"Listen to you? You want me to listen to you after you barged in on this nigga like you had some kind of beef?!"

"I do have beef with him Hemily, HE KILLED OUR PARENTS!" Danté shouted at the top of his lungs. All of us just stood around, not sayin a damn thang. Armel looked like he was half dead already.

"You didn't have to see what I saw. I had to sit and watch them kill our parents, and burn their bodies like it was a regular fuckin thing. The version they gave to you, Drew and everybody else was bullshit. There were never any cars involved; just an empty warehouse and a gas can."

To our surprise, Hemily started to lower the gun. I subconsciously grabbed my shit as she pointed between Danté's legs. I don't know what was going on, but Hems was growing some serious balls.

It was about time a lil thug came out of her. "You got 30 seconds to convince me you're not lying." She demanded. Danté kept his hand over his crotch as he began to explain.

"I don't know the whole story okay, but apparently dad was supposed to do something for them. He was supposed to get somebody they knew to walk free with no charges. If he didn't do what they asked, he had to pay and I ain't talkin bout money, Hemily. They wanted you."
