The Doctor and I

The doctor on the doorstep!

More days few by and things hadn't changed at all. I was still left behind when everyone else continued to save the world. I had told my mum that Mr Smith could mind Athena. However she seemed to think his lack of arms ruled him out from babysitting duties.

"But mum!" I wined as I followed my mother around the attic as she gathered up her gadgets. "I'm going stir crazy!" I pouted.

"Look Mazy maybe next time..." My mum sighed she held me at arms length.

"You said that last time!"

"My mum said she'd mind Athena if Mazy ever wanted a break. She's great with babies," Rani interrupted as she held onto my sleeping daughter.

"See, break time," I beamed at the prospect of crossing the threshold.

"Nope, not today Mazy. I'm sorry,"

"Not fair," I frowned like a toddler.

"Let's go Rani," my mum ordered she turned her back on my scowling. "Time go back to mummy," she added causing Rani to pass Athena back to me.

"I did try," Rani uttered as she left.

"Be good!" My mother shouted before I heard the front door slam behind her.

I was an adult and I was unable to leave the house. Yeah I know I had a newborn but I would have loved for someone else to mind her so I could save the world from aliens. I mean I was good at it not so long ago and besides I'm part alien anyway.

"Mr Smith can you scan for alien activity within the area?"

"I have been told to ignore this request by your mother,"

"Okay, can you scan for alien activity within the neighbourhood,"

"Scan complete, no alien activity detected,"

"Thanks Mr Smith," I said sarcastically as I turned my attention back to my daughter. "Come on then sleepy head lets get some food. There nothing else to do,"

I picked up my phone from beside the computer and made my way down the stairs and into the kitchen. Athena was snuggled into my chest and her soft breath hit the side of my neck as I moved down each stair.

"Come on then princess, time for a bottle," I said as I turned pulled out the formula and carefully measured her feel. A noise from behind distracted me causing me to whip around holding the bottle out like a gun. "Who's there?" No response "I'm armed and extremely dangerous!" I snapped and this time I heard the door slam.

I slowly moved out from the kitchen taking care for my slippers not to make a sound on the creaky floor. The door was wide open and as I edges closer I could see a silhouette. "What do you want?" I asked, my voice sounded stern but I certainly didn't feel stern one bit.

"Armed and extremely dangerous?" Mused the male voice I had so longed to hear.

"Doctor?" I thought aloud causing him to turn around with his big goofy smile on his face.

"Mazy," he cheered "And Athena," he pulled me into a tight hug and planted a kiss onto my forehead.

"Daddy's here," I stated tearfully to my daughter as she looked up at me with her big beautiful eyes. I handed the infant over to my boyfriend and pulled him into the hallway.

"Are you not packed?"

"Of course I'm packed," I snorted causing my boyfriend to raise his brow. "No actually I'm not but I have a changing bag,"

"Very well. That's absolutely fine. The TARDIS will sort you something," he smiled as he pulled me by my arm with one hand while he held our daughter with the other. "Come on then," he urged.

"Alright, alright,"

"Can you get the door?" The doctor asked as he pulled me in front of my oldest friend. Just as I pulled my key from around my neck the door swung open without me even needing to touch anything.

"Hello sexy," I beamed as I entered the TARDIS and at my voice the engine hummed.

"Mazy. I think she needs changing,"

"Go on Doctor your turn," I said as I pulled the bag from my shoulder and handed it over to him.

I made my way over to the controls of the TARDIS and ran my finger over them. This machine had made me who I am and I loved it so much.

"Should I give you two a minute," I heard my boyfriend remark sarcastically as he picked Athena up from the chair where he had changed her. "See all sparkly," he added as he handed out giggling infant to me.

"So where are we going today?" Another voice added from behind us causing me to whip around. Stood in front of me was a ginger haired woman and a man with gelled blonde hair.

"Amy, Rory," cheered my boyfriend as he stood in between us causing me to frown. He held onto our daughter as he briefly embraced the couple.

"Amy Pond and Rory Williams?" I mused as I lend against the controls of the TARDIS. "River Song's parents,"

"Who wants to know?" Amy asked in her Scottish accent. She folded her arms across her chest as she stepped forward.

"I'm Mazy Smith. I'm a friend of Rivers,"

"She might have mentioned you actually," Rory said causing me to smile. He was exactly as kind as his daughter had told me.

"Yes Amy. This is Mazy my girlfriend and this is Athena our daughter," he pointed down to our sleeping child. "Here you take her," he said as he handed our child to Amy who still had her jaw to the floor.

"She's gorgeous,"

"Thank ya," I smiled as I looped arms with my boyfriend. "I've spoken to River about her parents. I know everything about them but where is their you know- timeline," I whispered as I tugged him towards the driving seat.

"What do you mean?"

"Okay. So River showed me her diary. I know everything that happens especially since all of our timelines are moving in the opposite directions," he made an 'O' shape with his mouth and I continued. "You see I have this," I showed him my vortex manipulator.

"How?"

"River. I just don't want to say anything that I have already learnt. I used to visit River when she was locked up so I wouldn't want to alter any times,"

"You won't,"

I spent the best part of about a week with the doctor, Amy and Rory. We went on visits to different times and planets exploring. We did try to avoid conflict because of Athena but that wasn't always possible. Throughout my time I still had not managed to explain my biological situation with my boyfriend. Each time I tried something would come up. Amy and Rory were great with Athena and she really seemed to like them. However my time on the TARDIS had to come to an end and it was my time to return home until the next time. Thankfully the TARDIS got me back before anyone noticed we were missing. It's amazing how we crammed a whole week into a few short hour.

"So what have you both been up to today?" My mum asked as she hooked her jacket up on the back of the attic door.

"Oh nothing really," I smiled.

"You weren't wearing that this morning and have you changed your hair?"

"A lot of time has passed since this morning mum,"

"Oh really," my mum narrowed her eyes at me briefly before she picked Athena up out of her bouncy chair.
