This morning I wanted to sleep in but I knew I had to go to school. Well at least it was the weekend, so I could just fall asleep after I got home from work.

I was also excited for Alexia and her date tonight. She had a giant smile on her face as I woke her up. That girl was always in a good mood when it came to Kyle.

But then again, I promised her I'd find a guy myself. How am I supposed to do that if I can't talk to a single person? Talking to Logan was different. He was always showing up, and why would he go for a girl like me anyway?

I took Alexia and Taryn to school today again. Alexia was happy I took her today. I knew she had so much fun last night. That was something I loved and missed. Since I’d been working like crazy and stuck with school, I'd had to skip our sister bond time. That was something she loved. Knowing that mom and dad were gone, she wanted someone else to keep her mind happy.

I got to school early to talk to Mrs. Keller about my grade.

"Sorry for the way I talked to you before. Raising my sisters on my own and working takes a lot of time and effort and adding more work to my busy schedule just puts a lot of pressure on me."

"It’s alright Kacey, I understand. I just want what's best for you. You're a great student."

"I wanted to let you know I thought about those extra study worksheets. I want to set a great example for my sisters, so I would like to go."

"I'm so glad you changed your mind. Meet in here at four today and I'll pair you up with one of my honor students."

"Okay. Sounds great." I smiled as the bell rang.

I walked to my seat with a smile. I just hope I know what I'm doing before I stress myself too much with all this work.

Today was another day of doing nothing, which I loved because that meant no homework over the weekend. We watched a boring history movie, which meant more sleeping time for me. In this class I could always sleep and Mrs. Keller never caught me because her nose was always stuck in a book.

The bell rang and I rushed out the door being the first one out of class. Walking into Chemistry we had the same substitute we had yesterday. I hope Mr. Urban wasn’t seriously hurt.

In class we watched a movie about spiders, which I hate so much because they creep me out. So I took ten notes and stopped watching it. It almost made me want to puke I was that disgusted.

When the bell rang I was glad to get out of there, that nasty spider room. I walked into Math and was glad to be in there. Math was something I was always good at, but never really liked. It was one of the classes I had an A in.

Today we did some book work, and for once it didn’t make any sense. I was looking at the equations and it just looked like gibberish to me. Then all of a sudden I heard a soft, faint voice coming from my left. I looked up and saw a girl waiting for my response.

“Do you need help?”

“Yeah. I just don’t understand how x can be equal on both sides.” I said looking at the foreign language that was written in the book.

“Oh that’s easy.” she said as she did the problem on my paper doing step by step.

“Thank you. That makes a lot more sense now.” I said smiling.
