Hope you liked the previous chapters. Well here's chapter 8!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I entered Photography with a big smile. I was proud of the picture I had. I went to my table and was ready to present my picture.
“Okay class, when I call your name, I want you to present your picture. Tell why you chose this picture and what it means to you.” Mrs. Hetch said. “Kacey.” She said my name first.
I got up and had the picture in my hands-I was ready to present my masterpiece.
“Okay well this is my picture.” I said turning it around. Everyone laughed. “Yes, this may be a really funny picture, but it captured such a great memory, I can’t even imagine what I would do if I didn’t get this picture.”
“What does this picture mean to you?” Mrs. Hetch asked with a serious face.
“Well, first of all, it’s a picture of me and my two sisters that I have raised by myself since I was ten, and they mean the world to me. With out them I wouldn’t know how I would survive my days living as Kacey Berk.”
“What about the picture makes it different from anyone else’s?”
“This picture captures not only the way my sisters and I are when we are around each other, but this picture, pictures I’ve taken of the three of us, they’re pictures of my life in just snapshots.”
“Okay. Next!” Mrs. Hetch said as everyone clapped.
I have no idea why Mrs. Hetch was so rude to me but everyone else liked my picture. They liked what I had to say, why did she have to be rude about it?
Everyone else went and the bell rang just as someone was talking. She still hadn’t told us what our grade was.
“Great job everyone. I will tell you your grades tomorrow. Have a good rest of the day. Kacey, can I talk to you for a minute?” she said. A few students who were still in the classroom were disappointed and said “awwww.”
“Yes Mrs. Hetch?”
“Your project was not what I wanted. I asked for something that means something to you.”
“But that picture did mean a lot to me.”
“You were supposed to take the picture. You are obviously in the picture, you did not take this.”
“I know, but Mrs. Hetch, think about it. Did you not listen to what I said?”
“I did, but it didn’t meet my expectations, so I’m giving you an F.”
“What!? That is not fair!”
“If you want some credit on this project, I will give you a C if you come up with a new picture. And, I want it on my desk before school starts tomorrow.” She started doing something else, meaning leave my classroom now.
Leaving the classroom I was so angry I didn’t talk to anyone, I just walked fast to my car and drove to work. I heard Logan call my name, but I just ignored him and continued walking to my car. I was so angry. I just didn’t care what anyone was saying to me at the time.
“Kacey, what’s wrong?” Kathey asked me as I pulled the door open with such force it hit the outside window.
“My stupid photography teacher basically failed me because I didn’t meet her criteria. Can you see what’s wrong with this picture?” I asked as I showed her the picture of Alexia, Taryn and me.
