This morning I woke up to my alarm clock. I must have forgotten that I turned it on for some reason.
I took a shower and the warm water splashing on my body felt really good. It made me want to stay in there forever. With a knock on the bathroom door, I was then tuned out of my dream.
“Yes?” I called out.
“Kacey, I have something to ask you.” it was Alexia’s voice.
“Yeah, what is it?”
“Can you come out of the shower first?” she said again.
“Yeah, hold on.” I said turning off the water and grabbing my towel. After I was wrapped in a towel, I opened the door. “What is it Alexia? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, fine. Its just, I think it happened.” she said looking down.
Happened? What did she mean by that? Oh wait, I know! When I first started my period I was in so much pain. It was also after my parents died so I couldn’t go to my mom about it. I had no one to got to about it.
So I had to be my own mom and do everything on my own. Take the pain as if it never really hurt. I had to hide the tears of pain that I felt so I wouldn’t show weakness in front of my sisters.
I opened a cabinet under my sink and handed her the box. She took the whole thing and smiled.
“Thanks Kacey.” she said and left.
I finished getting ready but just put jeans, a random t-shirt, and put my hair into a bun. I wasn’t really doing anything special so why get dressed in something fancy?
Walking to the kitchen I poured myself some cheerios and sat at the table reading the comics. I loved reading the comics. They were always so stupid and not really funny, but I would rather read that than the boring newspaper.
Then out came Taryn in a very colorful outfit. I just laughed looking at her.
“What so funny?” she asked.
“Nothing, you just look..”
“Look like what?”
“You look like yourself.” I smiled at her.
“Thank you.” she smiled back and skipped to grab herself some cereal.
Alexia than came walking out with a smile.
“You better now?” I asked her.
“Yeah, thanks Kacey.” she said again.
“No problem. Have fun at school girls.” I said kissing them on the head.
“Bye Kacey.” they both said and walked out the door.
I was glad it was Friday. I wanted to spend the weekend with my sisters doing something. I didn’t know what, but I wanted to be with them. I miss our sister bonding time.
I had to do something than just stand and do nothing, so I grabbed my camera and I walked out the door.
The morning breeze sent chills down my whole body. I didn’t think it would be this cold out here, but I was already a block from the apartment and I didn’t want to go back so I kept on walking in the freezing air.
