“But it's still because of me.”
He kisses my head, pulls me closer to him. “It's about me, Gin. You're just an excuse. They're jerks, alright?”
“They used to be your friends, didn't they?” I ask, a fist gripping my stomach.
He hesitates. “Can you believe it?” he whispers hoarsely into my ear. “Can you believe that I ever associated with those fucking pricks?”
I let out a light laugh. “No.”
But something else cuts deep into my cranium; what else did I manage to screw up in his life?
