“Hey,” Brandon says, looking at me with curious green eyes.
But they’re not blue.
“Uh…I think you’re at the wrong house,” I tell him lamely, closing the door behind me, as though to keep him out of my life.
He chuckles. It’s a rough sound. I instantly don’t like it. “No, I, uh, I’m looking for you, actually…Gin.”
My eyes grow wide. “Say that again?”
He rolls his eyes and stuffs his hands in his pockets like he has nowhere else to put them. Sunny always ran them through his hair. “Well, it’s just that…I know you and Sunny…”
“Sunny isn’t here.” I start to turn.
“No, and I know that. I know that, Gin, but just listen, okay?”
He sounds distressed, so I give him a chance.
