“Take a heart, whatever one you want,” the lady says to me, giving me a smile.
I feel too old to do this, but I reach for a heart; it's a plain, red one, but there are purple, pink, and yellow ones all with different patterns, too.
“Now spin around three times so your bear can move.”
Feeling ridiculous, I spun.
“Jump up and down so your bear is full of life.”
Sunny takes the heart from me gently, and jumps up and down. He's a frick'n nut.
The young woman laughs lightly. “Put it in front of your eye so it sees what you see.”
Sunny and I take turns doing that.
“Put it to your heart so it feels what you're feeling.”
Before I can do anything, Sunny places the heart over my heart. It beats madly at his touch, which I'm sure he can feel through my skin. A blush rises to my cheeks, but the lady acts as though she's seen it all.
“Rub it between your hands and give it a kiss.”
Sunny and I rub the heart together, kiss it together, and then place the stuffed fabric into the bear.
