She took Ceylin outside with her to build some fort in the snow. Emir closed himself in his study. She wanted to be away from Emir. His close presence disturbed her composed exterior. He knew too,his smiling eyes told her sometimes.

Both played with Snow. She came through kitchen to get dry mittens for Ceylin but collided with Emir. 'Sorry' she was breathless, raising her face that turned pink because of cold. Her eyes were sparkling. As if against his will, Emir pushed a strand from her face, 'we always did strike spark off each other, didn't we, Feriha? More we pushed each other , some unknown pulled us to back to each other. What should I do with you Feriha.' Softly he said looking into her eyes. 'Your eyes do not match your words. You say something but your eyes delivers something else.' Feriha took hold of her and pushed him. 'Again running away?" Feriha turned away her eyes, left before she gave into his charm.

Emir's laughter was still ringing in her ear as she started to walk back to Ceylin crossing the driveway. She heard the sound of coming car and same moment Ceylin came running towards her. Feriha shouted Ceylin to stop but she didn't hear, she was just right into the path. Driver didn't saw her coming and braked the car when saw Feriha shouting but by that time Ceylin was just near the car ,Feriha ran towards the car and with all her strength flung Ceylin into the snow gathered at the sides. Something struck her shoulder, tumbling her to the ground over and over, she lay still.

She heard the fading voices of Ceylin's crying, and Emir's deep calm, soothing voice telling Ceylin to stay with driver for a minute. Then she was turned over carefully with soft touch.

'Feriha, are you alright?'

She heard concern in his voice and her vision was blurred for a second. She opened her eyes and asked weakly, 'Ceylin? Did she get hurt?'

'No—she is fine, thanks to you. You saved her life.'

She tried to sit up but she was giddy, she clung to Emir, her forehead resting on his sleeves, she was having problem in breathing.

"Where are you hurt?' he asked, his hand was shaking when he raised her face to look at her.

'I—don't think I am. Just giddy.'
