Shards of similarities...

Jay's POV

The cat continuously followed me, and watched my every move, but once in awhile he would go with Nya and Lloyd, who decided to stay behind with me. The other ninja had made their decision to go find their own way of coping with the loss of Zane.

I....I just getting a cat was my way of coping, but Shard is not really like a cat. I telling you I feel like he's more human, or maybe robot than cat. He tries to eat my food, and every behavior is almost the same thing Zane did.

" Alright your move, Lloyd!" I smiled placing one of the pieces on the board. Lloyd studied my move and smiled.

" Prepare to get beaten!" he smiled, and then placed one of his pieces on the board and then took mine.

" What?! No way!" I gasped, looking at my board. I was not at the greatest of spots at the moment.

*Meow!* Shard jumped on my lap and placed his paws on the board.

" Jay, Shard's going to knock off the pieces if you let him on here." Lloyd looked at me and the cat annoyed. It wasn't his idea to keep the cat, but I think he cares of him too. " Anyway it's your move now."

I looked at the pieces and then at Shard, who was moving the pieces with his paws onto the board. " Shard?! Wait, what are you doing?" I hissed at him. The cat's fur puffed up in shock, but flattened out and looked at me with blue eyes.

*Meow!* he purred, trying to show me the board. My eyes widen. Did Shard just helped me make my move. I mean the move was what I need to stay in the game. Lloyd looked at me with shock, but didn't say anything.

" Okay, I'm keeping the move that Shard did!" I smiled.

" Really, okay..."

The game continued, and somehow my cat won it for me.

" No way!!!" Lloyd yelled, jumping from his seat. " How did a cat win the game!?"

" What's with all that noise?" Nya walked into the room, and looked at us annoyed. " Umm...did I miss something?"

Lloyd looked at her, with wide eyes. " Jay used Shard to determine his moves, and won the game!"

Nya didn't seem convinced, but then she turned to me and Shard. " Look, I'm not sure if that cat was trained or something, but I'm sure not just any cat can play chess, and win it with precise moves?" she stated.

" Umm, I think we all underestimated what Shard can do, I mean I know I didn't train him to do that. I alway lose in chess." I smiled.

*Meow!* Shard gave an amused purr. I looked at him, and smiled. The way he was able to make a combat like that wasn't something any person could do, but the only one I could think of was Zane. It was like he was playing the game in Shard's body. I looked at him and couldn't help but smile. The cat's eyes gleamed and he smile to smirk at me.

Could this cat be related to Zane somehow?

" Um, Jay are you okay?" Nya looked at me, worried. I looked at him and smiled.

" Yeah, never better!"
