Ticci Toby

Deciding that it must have come from up stairs you proceed upward, holding on to the carved banister.
Once reaching the top you glance down the hallways. Left or right? Taking your chances with right you walk down the dim lighted hallway. After a short time walking your attention is drawn to a door from which a ticking-like noise is coming from.  ' If a clock is still working in this place it must mean someone's around here, i mean someone's gotta change the batteries right?'  You decided to enter the room.

The first thing you notice is the absence of much furniture. The room contained the bare minimum; a plain grey blanketed bed, a wardrobe and a small desk and chairs upon which a hoodie and pair of goggles rested.

Thinking that no one was around to turn to leave, but startled easily when someone stood in the previously empty doorway.
You began to shriek but before it could breech your throats and hand was thrust upon your throat.
In front of you stood a tall, maroon haired man, whose eyes held a tired foreboding look. His lips twitched, and it appeared that the ticking noise you heard was coming from him.

"If I let go, do you promise not to scream?"  You blush and nodded. Slowly he lifted his hand and backed away so that a comfortable space was between you both.
"Why are you here? You shouldn't be here!"
He shut his-presumably- bedroom door and leant against for support. Sighing deeply, his gaze returned to you.

"Did you get lost?" A pregnant pause. You almost forgot he was talking to you. Almost.
"oh, yes. Do you think you could help me?"
Another pregnant pause. He seemed to be weighing up his options as he shifted on his heels.
"I suppose. Where do you need to go?"
"I need to find a local town."
" I know where one is. Not to far from here, you won't have to walk long."
Taking your hand in his he began to drag you to your intended destination. He looked around so often he reminded you of a meerkat. 'Just what is he looking out for?'

Down the hall, out the house and through the dense and now dark forest. During your walk with him you noticed how he twitched when he walked, how contently paranoid he seemed and every once in a while grasping your hand tightly and pulling you close to him whilst stilling completely, as if a single movement would cause you to meet your end.

After a while you came to the edge of the woods, turning abruptly to face your chaperon you saw him frown, and upon noticing your stare quickly pushed you forward.
"Go, quickly, from here you go left." you flashed him a smile,
"Thank you. For everything."

You turned and ran in the direction he told you. Once upon a slight incline you chanced a glance back, even though a voice inside you was telling you it was a bad idea.

From the tree tops a featureless face stared back at you....
