Ryan's POV

"Where the hell is she?!" I yelled down the phone while my mom was trying to get me to calm down

"Ryan she probably just had to do something" my mom tried to assure me but it seriously isn't working, I look around Chloe room which is where I am right now and dear god I can't help but think something happened to her

Her rucksack is missing and her room is a mess, whatever happened here happened in a rush, but what did happen here?

I start searching her room while leaving my phone on speaker on the desk

"She's not just doing something mom, her room looks like it's been tipped upside down and Chloe was so desperately organised it was almost laughable, I did laugh at her about it, the first time I was back here 3 weeks ago" reminiscing about that almost brought tears to my eyes, if something bad has happened to her I don't know what I'll do but I know it won't be good

"Ryan call her, if she doesn't pick up then you can panic a little okay?" Wow that's very helpful mom thanks

I hang up the phone and dial Chloe

I listen to it ring, over and over again, nothing, no response, she refuses to pick up....or she can't, what if she can't?

No Ryan! Stop thinking like that! What the hell is going on?! Where the fuck is she?!

I started rummaging round through her room, looking for anything I could find, I just needed something that could tell me where she was, what had happened to her

I needed answers, I had to know why this was happening

I swear he's everywhere I could think of, where would it be? Surely she'd have left something

Wouldn't she?

I thought it through as hard as I could and nothing so rang my mom again

"Ryan? Have you spoken to her? Is she okay?" My mom asked hurriedly

I sighed and shook my head, I knew she couldn't see me but it wasn't for her, it was for the situation

"No mom, she's not answering, I've looked all over her room and there's nothing here that would explain her disappearance" I told her anxiously

"Maybe she didn't want to be found" my mom suggested sadly

"Doesn't, mom, not did, don't talk about her in the last tense, she's not dead!" I yelled down the phone

I took a deep breath and gathered myself up before apologising for my outburst

"I'm sorry, that was wrong of me" I tell her

"It's okay, look Ryan are you sure you've searched everywhere, maybe she had a hiding place or something, she was smart, she is smart, she'd know if you were desperate enough for answers you'd look everywhere until you found them" that actually makes perfect sense

"Shit, I know where it would be!" I yelled with a tinge of excitement

"Ryan!" My mom replied, annoyed by my language choice during my outburst

"Sorry mom, look I'll call you back in a minute, bye" I told her and then quickly hung up

I turned to her desk

I remembered how when we were younger she used to take out the bottom drawer and hide stuff under it

Her mum had quite a problem with drugs and alcohol back in the day and Chloe was doing a lot of tutoring, her mom kept taking her money to get her crap when she couldn't afford it herself, she hid it there and her mom never found it

She hit Chloe when she realised she was hiding it, smacked her round the face, when Chloe came to me in tears, a bright red cheek we told my mom and she threatened to call hold services and get Chloe taken away if her mom didn't get clean

Chloe stayed with us for a month after that while her mom got clean, well, got clean the first time, she's been clean for a while now though, whatever she may be she does care about her daughter, just not in he way she should

That's the only place I've ever known Chloe to hide anything, if it's not there I don't know where it would be

I knelt down in from of her drawers and pulled the bottom one all the way out, I put it down beside me and reached in and my hand immediately found a folded piece of paper

I pulled it out and the first thing I saw was my name written in big letters

I quickly slid the drawer back in after seeing the time, Chloe ms mom will be back soon, I need to be gone by then, what if it's my fault her daughters missing? She's never tried to run off before and I wouldn't blame her if she had

I made sure I left no trace of myself and was about leave when I saw something on her desk

A little paper doll

I grabbed it and ran out of the room, I ran all the way out and locked up before sliding the key back into its hiding place and running back across to my house
