Chapter 4

Ryan's POV

I spent weeks after trying to find some clues to where she'd gone, surely there had to be some trace of her

But no matter how hard I searched there was nothing

Her mom had filled a missing persons report as soon as she was able to but she was a mess

"The only thing I ever got right is gone, now everything is wrong" that was what she said to me, the last thing she's said to me in weeks, I've searched Chloe's room so many times, each time she lets me in, smiles sadly and then disappears, having said nothing

This town was shaken to its core by her disappearance, everyone knew her, she'd done something to help pretty much everyone who lives here and one point or another in the 11 years she was living in this small town

She was a lift in the town and now we're shrouded in darkness

She's been missing for 3 months now and she's been marked just as another runaway to do nothing about, she's almost 18 and once she is it doesn't matter as much anymore, she doesn't matter as much anymore

But to be honest they've already given up, a few weeks ago I called them and it's now a cold case apparently

I'm other words they don't think they're gonna find her so they've stopped looking

I can't just let her go, not that easily, she wouldn't give up on me and I intend to do the same for her

There must've been a reason she left, she wouldn't have just packed up and gone because she felt like it, the letter said she didn't want to leave but she had to, what could possibly mean she had to leave us?

Jared moved on pretty quick, he's now dating Amber, she was one of Chloe's supposed friends from her popular days although neither girl ever liked each other

Amber is really mean, she was always quite nasty to Chloe, she was jealous that close was Jared's choice, everyone knew that she was totally into Jared, towards the end I'm pretty sure they were sleeping together anyways so she was more than happy to take Chloe's place

What I don't get is he doesn't seem to abuse her like he did Chloe

Actually no I do get that, Chloe was sweet and gentle and he took advantage of that...and her

I mean Amber is basically just a total physical copy of Chloe exalt much less pretty, Chloe was beautiful, Amber is pretty at best

They've been back at school for a while now and people are starting to forget about her, how can they forget about her?

6 months she's been gone now and I'm so lost without her, I keep looking for something to use to find her, but there's nothing, what if this is it? What if she's just gone?

I can't believe it's been 9 whole months without her, it's been too long, I can't keep going without her...but I think I might have to...

* * *

11 months and I think now it's time, I think I'm going to have to admit defeat, she's out there somewhere, I know she is, I can just feel it

She's okay wherever she is, I'm sure of that too, she's not alone, no one could ever just leave her to be alone, she's too amazing for that

But maybe it's time for me to accept that she's lost to me, whoever she is I'm not there with her and that's how this is meant to be

Maybe it's time I let her go...

Time went by and he lost his faith in being able to find her, now he's starting to wonder if he should give up, hmm, interesting xoxo
