Chapter 13

Ryan's POV

I had to find out, this could be nothing, maybe I am crazy, I probably am but I can't not follow this, it's the last lead I have, if this is nothing then I will give up but I have to see this through

The girl starts walking and I follow her as she does

She heads down the opposite direction of the way I came, walks down a few blocks and then turned down onto an alley of apartment buildings

Shit, this is the address, Colton must've typed it into the Sat Nav wrong, maybe this could be it

Maybe I've found her?

Suddenly she turns around and I jump behind a building, hoping she didn't see me, if this isn't her then I don't want to creep out some random girl for nothing

"Hello?" I hear her ask, I couldn't make out the voice properly but it sounded like her

I'm probably imagining this, but what if I'm not?

I peer around the corner as she turns away and walks into the building, once she's out of sight I follow her in

As I got into the building she started climbing the stairs

I waited a minute or so to start climbing them myself

Dear god I sound like such a creep, following a random young girl I might know

I walk up the stairs until on the fifth floor and then peer around the corner of the steps and see her stood at the door

She rummages around in her bag for her keys as I watch and wait

She finally finds her keys, puts them in and unlocks the door, as she does an elderly lady comes to the door

She hugs the girl and then leaves, I pull out my phone and whip around, slowly walking down the stairs so it doesn't look weird

The old lady walks past me and smiles, I smile back and wait until she's gone to turn back around and head back up the stairs

I head towards the door I saw her go in and on the wall by the door it said 5C, as in the apartment Chloe was supposedly in

I felt my heart start racing, could I possibly have found her?

I raise my hand to the door and go to knock but I just can't

What if it's not her? Would I be better off just having hope?

No! God Ryan no!

I need to know if it's her, I know I do, but if it's not then I don't think I'll be able to take it

But I have to

I raise my hand and I do it, I knock on the door and wait

A few moments later the door opens, the woman looks up at me and my heart stops...

It's Chloe

But then I take a bit more of a look at her and I notice she's not alone

There's a little baby girl sat on her hip smiling at me with an adorable little grin

She has the same emerald green eyes as Chloe does

Chloe has a kid?
