Lilli drifted to sleep very quickly, thoughts from when she was a young child swarming in her head. Her childhood fantasies and dreams. The sad thing was, she still hasn't fulfilled them. And she never would.

She never knew her parents. She was told they died when she was one, and she can't remember anything about them. Not their looks, their voices, where they lived. She wasn't ever told their names. She grew up bullied, all the other kids had parents and teased her for being the "odd one out". It was always unfair, she thought. She did nothing to deserve it, she was only a baby. That's what the school councillors kept telling her.

She always drew pictures of what she wanted her parents to be like. She wanted a kind mother, one with a permanent warm grin and who could cook the best sweets. She always wanted a kind, but protective father. So basically, she wanted the opposite of what she had.

Her foster parents were mean. Her father was an alcoholic, he had nothing to do with her. Ever since she started school, he never turned up to her assemblies or award ceremonies. Her mother was only there because she was being paid. She never held Lilli in her arms when she was bullied. She never told her she was beautiful when she got dumped by her first boy friend. Her "parents" didn't act like the titles they were given.

She started watching YouTube for that very reason. She decided she wanted good role models, people to look up to. Nice, friendly people. One's who weren't scared to make a fool of themselves, ones who were creative, and ones who were intelligent. She was drawn to a few in particular, but none as much as MatPat. She had watched all of his video's at least three times each, she followed him on Twitter for all his ironic tweets and she always wanted the chance to talk to him.

She couldn't seem to forget her short interaction with MatPat, no matter how deep into her dreams she was. She still imagined having great parents. Ones that would be happy that she met her idol. One's that would be happy that, in a way, she made it. She slept steadily into the night, tears escaping the small gap between her eyelids as she slept.
