That summer

Chapter 4: Dates and Poetry

Nina braided her hair and sat at the kitchen table while Fabian slept on the couch. A few minutes later gran came back.

"Oh hello Nina. Louise had bad back pain. Crochet takes a lot out of people" she said.

"Haha did you have fun?" Nina asked.

"Oh yeah, I felt rebellious you can say" gran said smirking.

Nina laughed. "I bet you had a great time gran. Anyways, there was something I have to ask you."

"Sure anything dear", gran replied.

"So Fabian came from Liverpool, and he visited me as a surprise and he has no where to go. I was wondering if he could stay here?" Nina asked.

"Oh sure Nina. I like Fabian he's very nice" Gran exclaimed smiling. "Where is he now?"

"Oh he's sleeping on the couch. Jet-lag ." Nina said.

"Ahh I see. So you know I will have rules for this kind of thing." Gran said.

"Oh, I knew that." Nina said.

"But my main one, number one, no sleeping in the same room!" Gran said.

"Okay Gran ma'am!" Nina said saluting.

Gran laughed. "Oh you were always my favorite granddaughter."

Nina blushed and laughed. "Oh I know !"

Gran and Nina both laughed at the same time. Nina came over to her ad hugged her.

"Thank you" she said.

"Anytime dearie" gran replied.

Nina kissed her cheek and turned her head to the direction of the couch. Fabian was sitting up and stretching.

"There he is!" Gran said.

"Huh?- oh hi gran" Fabian said.

"Hello Fabian? How's the poetry?" She asked.

"Not so good" Fabian said blushing.

Nina laughed at this. It was the way he looked when he blushed that made her happy. Fabian stood up and folded the blanket and placed it at the side of the couch. Nina went over to him and fixed his hair. His hair was flying every which way and Was all messy.

"Haha thanks!" Fabian said.

Nina smiled. "No problem"

"Well in an hour or two ill start dinner. So you two can go off and have fun and enjoy your time together" gran said.

"Are you sure?" Nina asked.

"Go, live your life!" Gran exclaimed. "I've got poetry to write!"

Fabian and Nina laughed.

"Okay gran, see you 'round " Nina said.

"Goodbye loves!" Gran wished to them.

Fabian grabbed his guitar and held the door open for Nina. Confused Nina went outside and sat in the drivers seat and Fabian in the passengers.

"Keep your head down" Nina said as she backed up the car.

"Um okay" Fabian said confused.

"I'll tell you why in a bit" Nina replied.

"Okay love" Fabian said looking up at her.

Nina blushed but it was hard to tell because of he sunset shinning in the car.
