Chapter 24: goodbye my love

Today was the day that Fabian would have too leave. Nina would be on her own for a few weeks. She was not ready to give him up just yet. She has been holding in these constant emotions ever since she shared the "brilliant" idea that he should get an education. That morning she woke up in Fabians arms as usual. But this time his slumber seemed more of a desperate attempt to stay longer. Nina smiled at him and kissed him on the cheek. Still sound asleep Fabian remains motionless and still. Nina untangled from his arms and went downstairs and made breakfast for him he's always made breakfast for her, she needed to return the favor. While she was preparing scrambled eggs for him he came down.

"Good morning" he said.

Nina smiled over her shoulder and then went back to seeing what she was doing.

"Morning Fabian. All packed?" She asked.

"Yes, I believe so" Fabian replied sitting in his usual spot at the table.

Nina brought over different kinds of foods she's prepared. Fabian finally stood up and said "let me help you".

Nina smiled and let him carry some plates and whatnot over.

~five hours later~

Fabian and Nina were walking in the airport together. Nina's face was pale and emotionless. Fabians was concerned.

After they went through luggage check they sat in the waiting area. Fabian held Nina's hand and Nina looked at his face.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" He asked once again.

"Yes Fabian, I will be." She reiterated.

He noticed the tone of her voice and replied "I just care for you. That's why I'm always asking"

Nina smiled down and leaned her head on his shoulder.

~5 minutes later~

"Flight 205 to Liverpool is now boarding." The announcer said.

"That's you" Nina said quietly.

She picked her head up and looked at him.

"I guess this..is goodbye" Fabian said.

Nina nodded her head.

"For now I hope" Nina replied.

Fabian hugged her.

"Bye" he said.

"Bye" Nina replied.

He turned to go through the gates when suddenly Nina burst into tears she ran to Fabian.

"Fabian!" She called out.

He turned around surprised. Nina ran to him and hugged him tightly swaying slowly. Nina was crying softly in his shoulder. Fabian rubbed the back of her head. He didn't know she actually cared. She picked her head up and kissed him frantically a few times.

"I love you so much!" Nina exclaimed.

Fabian smiled and let tears flow from his light green eyes.

"I love you too" he replied.

He kissed her again and smiled at her.

"Bye" he whispered.

Nina tried to smile but she was able to wave.

"Goodbye Fabian!" She said sadly.

He turned and walked down the tunnel. There goes the love of her life.

Possibly gone...forever.
