Luke's Point of View

I am looking at Daniel and his fucking stupid smirk painted across his lips. He is standing next to my dad shaking hands for a photo.
"Sir," Cheryl comes by.
"What?"
"Mr. Grayson called saying you need to go to his place," she says.
"For what? And you're not my secretary anymore,"
"I know but that doesn't mean I can't do favors," she rolls her eyes and walks away.
Daniel comes towards me as my dad stays behind with the photographer.
"Are you alright?" he asks.
I put my hands inside my pant pockets. "Yes sure."
Daniel chuckles. "Sorry but your face is priceless Luke. I am sorry I got the job in the most saddest way for you but Uncle Leo trusts me more."
This guy is really something else. I can't believe I'm related to him. I can't believe he is right though. Maybe he is better.
"Luke! Let's go," dad yells from across the room.
"Bye Luke."
"Bye Daniel, stay you," I say.
"I know that's an insult Luke,"
I flip him off as I leave the office.
I catch up to dad as he is entering his car. "Yes dad?"
"I'm going to have lunch then met me at my hotel room."
I nod. "Okay."
I text Nathan why he wants to see me.
It is a surprise- Nathan
...
I am sitting on the couch waiting for Nathan to get out of the kitchen. He brings two glasses of vodka and gives me one.
"So, guess what I will be doing tonight?" he asks.
I take a sip of the drink. "What? And why is it important to me? Don't you see I'm struggling right now?"
He smirks. "You will also come. It is a masquerade dinner party for Lily."
"Your sister is back to the States? I thought she wasn't talking to you anymore."
Nathan nods. "I apologize and she wants me to be involved with my nephew."
Wow. Nathan is growing up.
"So you are going right?" he asks.
I sigh. "Sure but I need to talk to my dad first."
"Alright. See you at 10."
...
I look at myself in the bathroom mirror of Lily's home rental. I put on the mask Nathan gave me before coming over. It is black which matches my suit. "Just have fun," I tell myself. I take out the whiskey flask out of my suit jacket and take a sip. It makes me relax a bit.
Someone knocks on the door and I step out. I go to the living room which got turned into a dinning room. I spot Lily and her husband Matthew.
Nathan hasn't arrived. Many people are already here.
"Hi Luke!" Matthew smiles. He isn't wearing a mask.
"Hey thanks for the invite," I shake his hand. Lily turns to me and smiles. She looks pretty with a white mask and matching dress. "Oh wow, the mask suits you, you look mysterious," she giggles.
"So where's your brother?"
She shrugs. "I need to go check on the food. Sit and I'll be back."
I look around the tables. "Your table is next to ours. Lily put Nathan's name on it," Matthew says.
I directly go to the table and sit.
I suddenly get a tap on my shoulder. "Hi," Nathan smiles. He uncovers his face and puts the mask back on.
"You finally show up," I say. He sits next to me. "Sorry my date took a while,"
"Is she someone new?"
"Sort of," he smirks.
A waiter comes by and serves us wine.
"Oh shit," the waiter yells. "I am sorry miss. I didn't see you."
I turn to the noise and see a girl with a forest green dress and black mask on. I don't recognize her.
"It is okay, it was my fault," she says.
She sits next to Nathan and looks up at me. We lock eyes. She looks familiar.
"You okay?"Nathan asks her. She quickly nods and looks down at her wine glass.
"Um," before I can ask who she is, Lily begins to toast. The party starts.

Rosalie's Point of View

Nathan sort of introduces me to his friend. I really can't see! I almost bump into a waiter. Shayla made me over and took my glasses away. I didn't have any eye contacts lenses so now I am blind.
I can't really see Nathan's friend well but he sounds familiar. We lock eyes. I get a weird feeling but it might me from my head hurting. I really need my glasses.
The food is serve but I have no appetite. Nathan took me early for a drink and I got stuffed with nachos.
The table is filled with other people but I feel Nathan's friend eyes on me. He is trying to figure me out.
"Wanna dance?" Nathan asks as jazz music comes into the room.
"Um," I clear my throat and say no to Nathan.
He frowns. "But you're my date. I want to dance."
"Let her," his sister comes by. "Dance with me big bro."
Nathan chuckles. "Is this payback?"
She nods and pulls him to the dance floor. I am left with the mystery man and a couple.
"I'm Luke,"
What?!?!
I quickly turn to him. It is Mr. Newman! Oh gosh, why didn't Nathan tell me?
I see his blurry figure get closer to me. He sits on Nathan's chair. "What's your name?"
He hasn't figured me out yet. What will he think if I say it's me? I am on a date with his best friend. Is that okay?
"Miss, are you okay?" he asks. Why does he sound so kind? His voice has emotion and a pleasant tone. He didn't act like this when we met.
I nod and stand. I fix my dress by lowering it back to my lower thighs. Shayla dress me up in a tight A-line dress.
"I just want to know your name," he says as he stands. He fixes his suit. "Nathan always goes for the quiet ones." Luke walks away.
What does he mean by that?
I suddenly get pulled by Nathan to the dance floor. The DJ has change the pace of music into a pop one.
He pulls me to him and smiles. "Has Luke figured out who you are?"
I say no. "Why didn't you tell me he was coming too? I don't even know if this is okay."
"Us? We are just on a friendly date and Luke won't care if you do become my girlfriend,"
I roll my eyes. "I don't care what he says."
He twirls me around and braces me from behind. I feel his hands on my hips trying to move them to the rhythm of the song. I am not a dancer at all.
"Just have fun Rose," he kisses my cheek.
I pull away. "I'm sorry. This is weird. I need to go."
I quickly jog to the other side of the room. I take out my phone from my heel and text Shayla.
