The first trimester is over. No more puking!
I am getting dressed in front of the mirror. My stomach is still quite flat and my breasts too. I wonder if I will get big soon.
"You look nice," Luke appears behind me. He embraces me and kisses my shoulders. "Last night was amazing."
I blush. "Yeah."
"You hungry?"
I nod. "Please! I'm starving all the time now."
We get decent and walk to the hotel's lobby. There's  a small restaurant inside and we enjoy brunch.
"When are you going to the doctor?" Luke asks.
"Next week, if you wanna go with me," I shrug.
Luke has been okay with my pregnancy. However, I know there is still doubt in him. He is still worried that the baby isn't his.
"I will try, work has been hectic,"
I take a bite of my toast. "Me too. Shayla thinks I should quit though. She says the baby feels all the stress I do,"
"Is she the doctor?"
"No, but I think she might be right. I mean, I don't want to quit but maybe later I won't be able to even walk,"
He chuckles. "You're going to look like a penguin."
"Shut up!"
"Whatever you decide, I support you."
I smile. He has been kind through all of this. "Okay."
....
A week later
....

Luke and my mom are quiet now. The doctor is putting jelly on my stomach to see the baby. "Okay now let me see if we can get a clear picture," she smiles at me.
I turn to the screen and it looks like static. Then seconds pass and I see a spot.
"Okay you are 14 weeks now, and the baby seems to be in the right size and weight  as your pregnancy," she points to something, "that's the head Rose,"
Mom chuckles. "Yep that's a baby. "
I can't help but to smile. It does look normalish now.
"It seems everything is forming and growing at a good pace," the doctor finishes the ultrasound. "Any questions?"
"When can we know the sex?" Luke asks.
Wow. I am surprised. He never asked a question before.
"Next time you come back, we can also do a blood test to be 100 percent sure,"
I nod. "Thank you."
She gives me a napkin to clean myself .  "See you in 3 weeks."
My mom helps me sit and hugs me. "I think it is a girl!"
"We shall see," I fix my button shirt. "Can we go get a snack?"
"Sure," Luke says.
We all go to a corner store near by. My mom goes to the ice cream section while Luke and I go to the drink section.
"Are you excited to know the sex?" Luke asks.
"Kind of but I am more happy to know it is fine,"
"I want a boy," he whispers. I look at him but he is looking at a bottle. I bite my lower lip. "That will be fun. A little Luke running around."
He puts back the bottle. "My dad says I was very shy so I really never ran around until I was 6. Then I remember my mom being irrated with me because I never wanted to sit still."
"That will be fine. I think I can handle it."
Luke looks at me. "Okay. Let's go then."
I guess we had our first baby talk. He is warming up to the idea of being a father. It makes me feel butterflies in my stomach. Wait, was that a baby kick?!
"Luke! I think baby kicked!" I yell. Luke drops everything and feels my stomach. "Shit.  I feel it!" I cry. This feels  weird but nice.
"Sir you need to pay for this," a random guy comes by. We look down and Luke dropped two bottles of soda.
"Yes I will."
The guy nods and begins to mop the mess.
"What happened?" My mom comes by as we go to the register.
"Baby moved!" I laugh. "Luke felt it too."
"Aw!! So sweet!"
We pay and leave the store. Luke says goodbye. "I love you," I say.
"Thank you," he kisses me. "See you Friday then."

He can't say he loves me yet but I know he does. He might even love this baby. Today was the first time he took interest. I am happy for that. I made the right choice.
