New Year New CEO 2

Today is New Year's Day. Yesterday was a blur. I got so drunk. I am afraid to even ask Daniel or Shayla. I will never do that again!
...
"Can we just do it tomorrow?" I ask Daniel. I take a sip of coffee.
"Look, I didn't pressure you in drinking, you told me you were gonna help," Daniel chuckles.
I look at his beautiful eyes. "Yeah but I didn't count with you forgetting the laptop!"
Daniel parks outside Gordon's. "Let's go."
I roll my eyes and get out of the car. A security guard helps us and we are in. I feel a bit weird coming back after all this time.
Daniel is checking the time on the watch I got him for Christmas. I smile. He really loved it.
"We just get the laptop and we have time to go for brunch," he says. I nod. "Go ahead, remember you told me I need to get the drive from Nathan's office."
He steps in the elevator and I take the other one.
I get a text from Charlie:

Hey girl! Mom and I will be visiting soon! Happy new year. Remember you need to help with my wedding! XD

I smile. I can't wait to see him get married. I arrive to the floor and head to Nathan's office.
"Oh snap!" My face gets hit my the door! Ouch!
"Shit, sorry,"
I look up and see Luke. "What the hell?"
He smiles. "Hey,"
"Hey? What the hell? Why are you here? You hit me!"
I rub my nose. Thankfully no blood is coming out.
"Sorry about that," he frowns, "does it hurt?"
I step back. "No. Why are here?"
"Nathan asked if I can get his bag," I see he is holding a brown leather bag. "He has a hangover."
"Okay, well excuse me," I go in the office.
"Why are you here?" Luke asks.
"I am helping Daniel. He forgot some stuff so I am here with him,"
I get the drive and turn around. Luke is still there. "Cool,"
I nod. "Going now."
I feel him walking behind me. I wait for the elevator and see him standing next to me.
"So, happy new year Ms. Rose," he whispers. The door opens and we go in. I get to the right corner and look down at my black boots.
Luke presses the button and we head down. I get a text from Daniel telling me he is waiting for me already.
I reply back to him: Okay. =)
As soon as I look up the lights begin to flicker.
"Whoa," Luke whispers. Then they turn off.
"Luke! What the hell is happening?" I yell. Then the lights turn on again. Luke is holding my arm. "It should be okay now."
I look at the button space. The emergency button is turned on.
I press the open button. The doors don't open!
"Shit, is this really happening?" I ask.
Luke tries to fix it. "Darn, I thought they fixed this elevator. You okay?"
"No Luke! My head is pounding and I am not liking this,"
I call Daniel. "We are stuck!"
"We? What?" Daniel asks.
"Luke and I are stuck in the elevator,"
"What? You okay? What floor?"
I turn to Luke who is talking to 911 on the elevator system. "I don't know. But we are okay. Luke is already talking to emergency crew."
"Okay okay, let me see if I can get hold of the maintenance people,"
"Okay," I sigh. I hang up.
"Yes, thank you," Luke looks at me. "They are coming. Don't worry."
I roll my eyes. "What a great way to start the year."
I snuggle up in the corner. "Happy New Year," I say to Luke. I have no idea how I got myself in this situation.
"Yep," he grins. "And this is just scary."
I nod. "So how long does it take to rescue someone from an elevator?"
He shrugs. "Just stay calm like the operator said."
I am calm. I think. Ugh!! I want to get out!

I get a text from Daniel.
People are coming in 10 minutes. You okay? Is Luke being respectful?

Yes Daniel. Thank you. Let me just try to relax.

Okay. I'm gonna be texting you in a bit then. I give you call once they are here.

Luke sits too. "So, how are things at your work?"
I turn to him. "Really Luke? I can't hold a conversation rig-"
The elevator shakes. I yell. I don't like this!
"Ssh," Luke comes to me and holds me.
I feel his warmth on his shoulder. "I guess you don't like being stuck huh?"
I push him away. "Idiot! Are you making fun of me? This is scary! It moved. What if we die here?"
"Sorry Rosalie, but we will be okay," Luke says.
He looks so calm. I sigh. "Just be quiet."
"Alright,"
Daniel text me and I tell him I am okay.
I feel Luke looking at me. I see him. "What?"
"You got drunk too?"
"So? This is my first hangover so shut up,"
"I'm not judging. You do look a bit sick,"
"My head hurts Luke. Please-"
"Sorry," he smiles.
Oh god, my stomach aches. I quickly turn away. My breathing is off! No, no, why? Are you kidding me? Is my life a stupid romance movie?
"Nayda and I broke up,"
What? I turn to him. "Excuse me?"
He grins. "She was the best thing that happened to me but I felt I didn't deserve her. She recommended a rehab facility that can also help with my self-esteem and such so we broke up so I can get help. She told me that she loves me,"
"I don't understand, why are you telling me this?"
He scoots over to me. "Because thanks to you I realise all of this crap I had over me. I was blaming my dad for everything wrong with me. Thanks to you I saw the stupid and selfish man that I am still,"
My heart aches. I am happy. I am happy he is changing for himself.
"I really wish you were still at least my friend Rosalie, I know that you are with Daniel and I hope that asshole is treating you right," he smiles.
He wipes the tears off my face. "And I think that is Daniel,"
My phone rings. "H-hi?" I sniff.
"Crew and firemen are here,"
"Okay,"
"Rose?"
"Yeah?"
"What did he say to you?"
I see Luke standing. "For you not to hurt me."
