Last time on 'Now That I'm Gone'.
"So where are we going first?" he asked as he started the engine
"To Mimi's Café. It is really good. My sister has taken me there a few times and I love it."
"So we are getting coffee?" he asked
"Not necessarily," I said "they have things other than coffee."
"Whatever you say,"
He put the car into drive and we began our day and zoomed down the street.
After directing Ander to the café, even though he didn't want my help, we finally pulled up at Mimi's Café. I pointed to the drive through and told Ander to just go through the drive through since they didn't seem that busy and we had a time schedule to stay on.
Ander pulled up next to the big sign with the menu. I scanned it quickly and easily decided what I wanted.
"Okay, I figured out what I want. You want anything?" I asked
"Hmm. I might get a muffin or something. What do you recommend I get?" he asked while smiling at me
"Their Danishes are amazing. I say get whatever flavor Danish you want." I said
"Okie Dokie. I will." He replied
"Welcome to Mimi's Café, how can I help you?" a woman's voice blared out of the drive through speaker.
I leaned over Ander and said a little loudly, "Can we have a blueberry muffin and two..." I looked at Ander. "What kind of Danish do you want?" I whispered
"Just get whatever you get Emma," he whispered back
"Two Orange Sugar Danishes. And can I get a hot, Grande, caramel macchiato with extra whip please?" I asked finishing off my order
"Is that all for today?" she asked as the food we just ordered popped up on the screen
"Yes, thank you," I said
"Okay, your total will be $18.64 at the second window."
I leaned back into my seat and Ander pulled up to the second window.
"You amaze me. I mean who actually knows what to say when order coffee? You're like some kind of wizard." He said
"Yeah, yeah I know," I said smirking
The lady in the window came with our stuff and slid the sliding glass window open to hand it to us. I fished out my wallet from my backpack, but by the time I went to hand her the money Ander had already beat me to it. I looked at him and gave him a death stare, but he just smiled. The lady handed him the food and my drink along with his receipt. She shut the window and Ander rolled up his own. He put the bag with the food in it in between the two of our seats, and then handed me my drink. I was so eager to taste the drink. This was my all-time favorite drink from Mimi's Café. They never screwed it up, unlike some other coffee places I have been to. The smell had me dying to taste it so I put it up to my face about to take a sip when the heat warmed my face. I just love warm drinks. I went to put my lips to the cup when I was interrupted by a voice.
"So... are you going to drink it or sit there and look like you're 'bout to make out with it?" Ander asked laughing at me
"I'm going to drink it, Ander. Thanks for asking."
